AMD's RX 500 Series of Graphics Cards Rumored as Rebrands of RX 400 Series

A new GPU possibly based on Polaris 12 chip has appeared in Compubench: 10 CU = 640 SP, 1302 MHz boost and 4 GB of RAM. Its estimated performance should be around 750 Ti levels and power consumption sub 50W (maybe even much lower). It could be named RX 550 or R 550 or maybe it's a mobile chip. It appears AMD will finally be able to bury the ancient Bonaire, Cape Verde and Oland chips :).

From what I just read it's not going to be a direct rebrand. There will be some upgrades.

I think it's a direct rebrand with only a minor clock speed bump. Based on what was revealed. The only chip that's a complete major redefine is the Radeon RX Vega.
I guess we will see soon enough.

Maybe there just calling the process something different.

4xx series was on 14LPE

5xx series will be 14LPP

Low Power Plus that they claim will have better power consumption with a performance boost

We will I guess

Perhaps. I hope so.
And hopefully they are priced fair too.
What I was hoping for was a entire line of VEGA. Low/Mid/High/Enthusiast.

This launch will definitely be interested and one of AMDs largest GPU launches in a long time. The Vega Launch I mean.
