And if you want AFMF it's sick and wrong that your only choice is amd?
This is why I said I can see merit on both sides of the argument. No one is forcing anyone to want these technologies.

Well sure but i think wolf is pointing out that these ridiculous arguments are only coming from one side. Like the removal of physx that rendered hundreds of games unplayable on nvidia (that's an actual comment someone wrote). Why wasn't I reading that hundreds of games are unplayable on amd cards all these years? Makes you wonder :toast:

This is the review thread for the 5070ti TUF card.

All I see are adults acting like children attacking a feature set that isn't specific to this one review.

Same people all the time arguing over the same thing. Don't you guys ever get tired? That's rhetorical - do not answer.

Stick to the review topic.

As reasonable human beings, at least we could try to see the argument from both sides, couldn't we?
Oh I'm not sure you see the parts I quoted and take exception with, some of which has no merit in an adult discussion.

Having said that, it's quite off topic now so it's perhaps best left for another time when it's on topic.

Now on topic...

I have two friends that snagged the Asus Prime model here locally which was an MSRP model, so relative to the GPU market over the last 2-4 years they've done quite well! One had a 5080 order he's been able to cancel as this was 25% cheaper for what looks like 10-15% less perf. If you get MSRP you've done well, if not.. Well good luck.

Why? NVidia has frame gen at this point. But this begs the further question: Why do we need frame gen at all? How about we focus on frames actually rendered instead of crazy work arounds.
Obviously it was a joke, pointing out that you are not locked in because of DLSS.

We need frame gen cause you can't achieve high framerates without it. Modern monitors can get up to 120-240 or even 360hz and you can't get there with high settings on any AAA game no matter the hardware. You can focus on real frames as much as you like you are not getting that many fps, even if you had twice the horsepower of a 5090 at your disposal. You never could btw, even when there was no frame gen and they supposedly focused on rendered frames, even high end gpus struggled to hit 60-100 fps in AAA games at max settings. Take the 1080ti review from this very site, even at its prime, with games older than the hardware, lots of games were sitting between 60-90 fps at 1440p, before even touching 4k. At 4k you drop to half, usually sitting between 30-60!

Do we even need high framerates? Doesn'r Freesync and Gsync help?

Need? No, we can play with 30. Some games were running on 25 locked 15 years ago. Do we WANT more frames? Yes. If we can get 1000, i won't complain.

Just play older TW titles like Rome 2 and you will see how much PC power you have or need.

Is the missing support screws for the VRM not an issue on this card like on the 4070 Ventus where the pcb would flex so much that the thermalpads would lose contact with the VRM?
