Stable 24/7 for me is 670-680 core, and 1040-1050 memory.
I have Asus EAH 4850. This one by default had memory at 1004 not 993, strange, but good.

Dedix , most of the times a bios flash with "higher voltages" won't get you higher overclocks.
The 4850 it's just limited to well to get you higher clocks and i doubt you got 1.310 V from a bios flash , it could say you have that voltage but you won't have it and still be at default ones.
Be happy with your overclock and leave it alone , you won't get higher clocks unlles you voltmod de card.

I understand. I have to. Anyway could you help me out with voltmod? I would give a try to pencilmod. I did some searches for that one, but still am a bit confused where should I do the stuff on my card because it is not a reference card. I am going to post some photos.

Post the photos and i'm sure someone more experienced will answer you , i'm not that good at voltmod ( burned some stuff in the past ).
There are lot's of people here who voltmoded their 4850 but they changed the cooling too , so before you do antyhing you should consider getting a better cooler for your video card.

As I mentioned it is not a reference card so it has an advanced cooler. I think this one should do its job on higher clocks/voltages as well.

So, here is the so mentioned picture of the back of my card (Sorry for the bad quality but it might help.):

Any help/idea/guidance would be highly appreciated.

BTW, what are my chances to damage my card with this pencil stuff?

I can run mine at about 685/1100 or soo but its not stable enough to game with :(. I was thinking about pencil modding unless you guys can tell me what im doing wrong.....

Thanks in advance

Right now my temps are about 32-38 idle depending on my ambient temps of course being that its getting a lot warmer im looking at about 40c today. On load they maybe hit 60c

edited to include temps

I used rbe to edit my bios to 1.158v and got mine to this-

I may volt mod it at some point as i have watercooling so temp is not really an issue. At least i know with a vmod i can at least run it at the clocks in the pic.

I normally run it stock though,as it runs all my games fine.

My temp is 30c,with just windows media centre running, with stock clocks.

So recently I've decided to give ATi another try in the form of some 4850 CF action :D

I've had a generic single slot 4850 512mb for a month or so now, and i was pleasantly surprised with its performance compared to my 4870/s from back in the day. still as noisy as i remmeber 48xx's, but a little champer for $100 AUD

Anyway, 512mb is hardly my style, and i wanted some CF action, knowing i wanted 2x1gb cards, and the noise of twin stock coolers would be deafening, I decided to buy myself a 22nd B'day pressie and dive on two of these babies.

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/VGA/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2901

All i can say is, tits.

These cards are pretty cool, i recently had a bit of a rant about Gigabyte ultra durable gear and these do not disappoint!

Stock clocks are 700 core and 993x2 memory, with gigabytes Gamer HUD volt tweaks too, and as per the pic, has a Zalman VF830 stock mounted.

No extra voltage across the board results in max clocks (so far :D) of 753/1102x2

Now these are getting very close to 4870's performance wise, but I'd love to boost that mem to 2400mhz, might just give these bandwidth hungry cards what they're after.

max temps are (so far) about 61 degrees on the top card and about 57 on the lower card, with the fans running constant speed (no pwm control)

A quick note is that I have updated the BIOS on both cards to the newest (gigabyte certified), which extends CCC limits from 750mhz core up to 840 :rockout: however the gigabyte gfx-bios updater tool is so lame! i had to phyically switch cards to flash them both, as the app only shows one.... and it spells "completed" as "complated" ...

My only gripe is the cards did not come with CF bridges (neither did mobo) but my previous ATi cards all have...

to wrap it up, these 4850's rock pretty hard, an excellent non-reference design coupled with a plethora of features to keep the tweek-hungry happy for days on end. I've had the cards now for almost a week, and i think there's plenty of headroom left to go :toast:

Now up to 780mhz core and 2225mhz effective on memory over both cards, no extra voltage added at all yet.

I wonder what they've got in them... still pushing...

I just got the Palit HD 4850 and edited the BIOS to get a better fan profile. With that I pencil modded the card and was able to run the card up to 800 core with temps in the high 60's low 70's with the fan never hitting more than 74%. The fan is actually set to hit 100% at 75. This was using ATI Tray Tools. I haven't gotten to stability testing yet or using Furmark, but I will update when I do. Just thought I'd share my experience with the "stock" cooler on the Palit HD4850.
