Been thinking of jumping on the hdr gsync 120hz bandwagon, but hesitant due to potential ghosting, motion blur, imperfections

Memory Viper Steel 4 x 16GB DDR4 3600MHz not sure on the timings... Probably still at 2667!! :(
Video Card(s) Asus Strix 3090 with front and rear active full cover water blocks
Storage I'm bound to forget something here - 250GB OS, 2 x 1TB NVME, 2 x 1TB SSD, 4TB SSD, 2 x 8TB HD etc...
Display(s) 3 x Dell 27" S2721DGFA @ 7680 x 1440P @ 144Hz or 165Hz - working on it!!
Case The big Thermaltake that looks like a Case Mods
Audio Device(s) Onboard
Power Supply EVGA 1600W T2
Mouse Corsair thingy
Keyboard Razer something or other....
VR HMD No headset yet
Software Windows 11 OS... Not a fan!!
Benchmark Scores I've actually never benched it!! Too busy with WCG and FAH and not gaming! :( :( Not OC'd it!! :(
That was one heck of a read through, still.. I'm looking forward to seeing what the monitor is like when you get it through :D

I'm in a similar situation with 1080P screens but the love/wish/want/need/call it whatever you want, for something a lot bigger res... Possibly 1440P or 4k but I'd like 120Hz... (Never had it but I hear enough raving reviews about it...) still, so this thread might actually help me find a replacement screen :D

Looking forward to the arrival of the panel @er557 :)

That list is not up to date. You'll have to look for the budget contest review which makes up for it with the fastest reviewed VA yet on tftcentral - 2458-c.
Also, what is so hard to get about dropping vrr? VA is only fast enough in its fastest duty cycle.
it is up to date.
it contains modern gaming VAs in various sizes.
one monitor DOES NOT change the fact that most modern VAs smear

This is just my opinion (I just got one last week) but the Gigabyte G32QC (I think) has the best black levels I have ever seen on a monitor (So HDR 400 actually looks nice). It is a 32" 165 HZ 1440P VA curved panel that has a 1500R curve. The curve might seem gimmicky but I personally have grown to appreciate it. The pixel density is 93 PPI. It does have ghosting but setting the overdrive to speed solves that. It is also Freesync Premium Pro but the best part is it is $500 Canadian or $360-$399 US. That is a lot of monitor for that price.

Oh, I love it. How convenient it is to paint a narrative over a by gone convention. The steretypical nature of the matter is, you don't like VA and are afraid to say it. Whereas we, enjoy its curvature, its accentuated contrast, its market adoption and do not get jealous one bit.
Fact is, most VA panels do not come with proper overdrive calibration. How can I know? Look at the RTC box at right hand corner, clearly other budget monitors fail what Viewsonic does right - they are either slow at max refresh rate, or heavy overshooting which is what causes stupid smears in the first place.

wake me up when VAs don't smear.
And I mean 7-8 out of 10.not one.
They are already down to 5.4 GtG, not including the new Samsung VA's that update at 240Hz. You cannot find a single thing I said not backed by the science.
I'll have a new thread, by the way. It takes a lot of preparation to know and narrow down this much data.
One cannot assume the worst and expect to be correct.

Gotta love how the OP didn't actually listen to the advice and got a used 43 inch, and the rest talking about VA smearing / haloing of some monitors that are irrelevant to the topic, or people getting big new monitors and comparing them to their old crappers.

Let's pull this back on OP, he will certainly need his second GPU and SLI is today pretty much a carriage on a graveyard. He's also looking at pointless GPU configs such as 2080 Ti SLI just to get 100 FPS with heavy settings.

Mind if he had gotten an Ultragear UW, he would of been a lot better framerate-wise. Undoubtedly, even the G9 49" plus a good GPU could be bought for the price of two 2080 Ti's.

There is even one in the link you provided that doesn't smear, but clearly you live in the past.
it does,a little.
and when will you understand that one is not a rule.
you say one doesn't - truth is nine do.

That is not the truth. Clearly, you don't even know clouding is the particular overshooting for VA. As it gets better compensated, you'll have only that list to console you.

i dont want an ultrawide, and certainly not 49'', i want classic 4k, and gsync will give me smooth playing even at lower fps than 120. i never mentioned 2080 ti sli, my setup wil have to do for now.

I think mgpu has enough issues on its own
dunno about nvlink, scaling is better but thats part of the story
if microstutter is only slight I'd still prefer a massive fps increase.I may notice it's there, but if we're talking 60,70 or 80 percent fps uplift I'd still take more fps.

of course 1 gpu is still better.

Yeah.. I dabbled with SLI and CFx, but over the past couple of years I've run away from it. There are too many drawbacks for me. Never 2x scaling, always ~2x power. Thermal mitigation...Potential of microstutter... when it happens and it is noticeable... destroys my gaming experience. There are reasons why I won't go 4K.... I don't like 60 Hz/FPS and no single card can run 4K/120.... and 4K/120 monitors are too pricey right now, especially without a single GPU that can drive it. I'd rather go 2560x1440 at 144Hz+ than go SLI and 4K anything right now.

I got a 24" 1440p.
super crisp and easy to drive, even a 2070S rips through that resolution.
It'll be a while before I buy anything.

yup a 2080S would be even better
Im getting a rtx3000 for sure, but dunno if I wanna get a 80Ti and sit on it for 2 gens or incremental increases every two years

2080Ti price is not a problem for me.The resale value is.
