@eidairaman1 he might help you..
He has retired from VBIOS flashing.

From a thread he made recently:
With all that has happened in my Life,
I am retiring from doing what I have been doing here Since 2017, gpu bios rescue.

@Imperator @Count von Schwalbe @siryoink and many others here know what to do to help the endless ocean with all proper tools and procedures. Please do not tag me in any longer
I am by no means an expert, but I have gained some experience here and do what I can to assist. The other two mentioned are much more knowledgeable than I am, so please tag them where possible.

You can give these two a shot - I can't confirm the PCB is the same, but it might work.

Hang on, I found two then promptly crashed my computer. I will get them back for you in a second.

Hello,

I've recently purchased a Chinese "ELSA" Branded RX 580 8GB which turned out to be an RX 580 8GB 2048SP, which I didn't even know these things existed.

----------------------------------------------

The Problem: When installing AMD Adrenalin Drivers, the driver install will complete but when I try to launch Adrenalin software, I get this error:

"Windows Update may have automatically replaced your AMD graphics driver. Hence, the version of AMD Software you have launched is not compatible with your currently installed AMD Graphics driver."

This is on a completely fresh install of Windows 10 and NOT connected to my network.

And of course it stays in ugly stretched out resolution and not native on the monitor because of the drivers are not working.

View attachment 267720

----------------------------------------------

I have tried:

  • Fresh Install Windows 11 Pro
  • Fresh Install Windows 10 Pro
  • Latest AMD Adrenalin Drivers 22.10.3
  • Latest AMD PRO Edition 22.Q3
  • AMD Auto-Detect Driver Installation
  • Windows Update Driver Installation
In between driver installs, I have used DDU to remove previous drivers before installing new ones.

----------------------------------------------

Solution? (Help Please)

It is my understanding, and please correct me if I am wrong, in order to get the drivers to play nice I have to flash the VBIOS to RX 570 8GB. Since it is a Chinese Brand "ELSA", I have no idea which VBIOS to flash here without bricking the card. I have uploaded the VBIOS of the card here @ this link: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/250383/250383

If anyone can point me in the right direction to get this card up and running, I will be eternally grateful! :)

----------------------------------------------

Specs (If needed):

i7-4790k
MSI Z97
8GB RAM

View attachment 267721

----------------------------------------------

EDIT: While digging through GPU-Z under Advanced Tab, I found this. It seemingly has an XFX bios flashed according to the config file in the photo below. Would I have better luck trying a VBIOS from say, Sapphire or Gigabyte?

For starters the version of the driver is out dated.
The windows installation at barebones needs to be updated.

I'm sure the bios on the card was fine from the get go.
Software needs to be in check before you can blame the firmware.
Update windows first. Or just don't use the Adrenaline software, cause you don't need it.
Good Luck!

One:

More forthcoming if that doesn't work.

Here is another, but the VRAM is clocked 250 MHz higher than your original - you may have to limit that

A few more:

nope, none of them worked ootb.. the first one was the most promising one as it showed correct specs in gpu-z - just no picture at all. is it possible that this is caused by the higher core clock?
the other ones all showed unknown specs in gpu z as well as no picture
may i have to edit the bios file or look for another bios?
Thanks again for reply!

RX 570 VBIOS with Samsung FC VRAM are pretty rare, here are the last ones:

There is one last think I can look for, let me check around.

I may have made a mistake - I was looking for a slightly different device ID than you had. They may not be compatible; I haven't tried it on these myself.

I have one with the same Device ID and Samsung FC:

Hello.
Please do not edit any of the BIOS-es that @Count von Schwalbe provided earlier.
Use them as they are in TPU database.
Since you tried all of them or most of them and you did not get any better result, that could be a hardware failure.
I usually do not give up so easy and in my case i always try the card in another computer.
After you managed to find a BIOS that gives good results in GPU-z, take that card to another computer and try it there.
DDu old drivers there, unplug network, install new drivers and plug network back.
Maybe you will be lucky.

Hello, I tried with the OG bios on a different computer and everything worked fine just like on my main rig. With a different bios both rigs would post but with black screen.
i don’t think the card is faulty nor any of my computers, I believe that these Chinese gpus are just a mixture of anything so none of these „standard“ bioses will work. So if no one can help me than I will rather buy a different gpu for that hackintosh
Thank you all guys!

Sorry, I wasn't able to edit my last post, but I just wanted to give a quick update:
managed it under macOS by spoofing the gpu - now acceleration works and the card is recognized as RX 580 8GB :)

So, it seems you have either a driver (OS) problem or your system have some glitches.

i was just using the OG China-Bios of the RX580 2048SP that is not natively supported by macOS. But by spoofing the card to card to a "full" RX 580 there is no need to flash the bios anymore as macOS can use its own OOB drivers (kexts)

Hello.
First of all please save your current working BIOS in a safe place.
Then you can start tests.
After you have the original BIOS saved and safe, we can flash any BIOS we want to test .
So if this BIOS fits your card , then yes you can flash it.
If it doesn't work you can revert at any time to original state.

Here you have a BIOS that supposed to match your card

Ciao.
Prima di tutto salva il tuo attuale BIOS funzionante in un posto sicuro.
Quindi puoi iniziare i test.

good morning, thanks for the reply, I tried to flash the bios you recommended following the atiflash 2.93 guide, but when the pc restarted it went wrong the screen goes black, how can I fix it? A thousand thanks
