Instead of buying a 360mm aio or something expensive (double of what i want to do) i want to get some better thermal paste than the one i use Noctua NT-H1 and the best premium 25mm fan (don't want to pay what a phantek t30 costs also it's to thick for the brackets on a hyper 212 evo v2)

what can you recommend ?
put a Noctua fan and it will last forever dead silent

Why did you put your fans like that? I can’t see that being very good.

But what about the ram? I have G.Skill ram too, and I didn't mount my fans like that.

I used G.Skill myself (Ripjaws IIRC, the black trapezoidal heatspreader) and found that the fan had to hang over the top slightly to fit the RAM. Not a real problem, but I can see that if you wanted access to your DIMMs you might flip the fans around into a pull config instead of push.

As I mentioned before, I just used the second fan as a rear case fan (the one that came with the case was not PWM) and used a single one in the center of the tower.

Set that fan right on top of the ram and clip it. It don't matter if the fan sits a little higher. ;)

Is there any measurable disadvantage to using the fans in a pull configuration?

A fan is less efficient pulling than pushing, but is it enough to make a difference?

Update

The thermalright cooler had so much coilwhine i had to,wanted to return it

The front fan is having a problem with my memory 42mm, not as i remember with my fuma 2 and my dark rock pro 4

2023-02-10 18_16_41-FAQ - DRAM Memory - G.SKILL International Enterprise Co., Ltd. – Google Ch...png

I returned to my hyper 212 evo v2 with silent wing 2. Temps just gets high. at low load, medium fan speed when i did 21% or so i had temps rise to 75c, i thought what the f.. need a new fan for my fuma 2 and no one had it stock, 30+ euros is not unsually with shipping, i did what i didn't wanted, pain the but.

Removed the cooler and my mb and started to mount my dark rock pro 4, i thought i missed one bracket for amd (spend time looking for it) but i had the bracket, then i couldn't find the screws for the tower to connect it to the brackets on the mb,finally i managed to put it together.

The my m.2 slot (the one used by my cpu) died, lower m.2 slot did work

prime 95 small fft 76c (only 4475mhz) just under 700 rpm Blend 4825mhz 71c just over 600 rpm

Aida64 stress cpu, fpu, cache, gpu not very stable in speed 4500-4700mhz sometimes it goes under 4000mhz, 1000 rpm on the dark rock pro 4 noticeable but not loud, peaking at 81c (best test to do when wanting the heat from the gpu to effect the cooler like when you gaming)

Get a Noctua NH-U12A and call it a day, 2 of the best fans out there are and no memory height issues.

Coolers don’t cause coil whine?

Your case is more than large enough to move the fan upwards

That's not optimal, you shouldn't want to do this...imo.

Sounds like you got a bad batch of fans or something is setup incorrectly. I’ve never heard motor noise like that from a tr fan.

Aside, fan whine is not coil whine, thus the confusion :)

On the first one, yes.

I just fail to understand how the orientation would be causing this.

I have nightmares with those things. But on my artic freezer 34 duo.
Maybe its user error but they fall out when I try to secure the fans, usually the bottom end. Even when securing with both hands, top and bottom at the same time.
Or the first fan is well secured, but when trying to secure the second i screw up and I knock out the already secured one with my wrist.
Ending up with both out of those tiny holes.
Then I need to trial n error to attach them again.
It works with some tries but if it falls off its a pain to locate the tiny hole on the bottom. :D

it's not just you, fan clips are a pain in the ass. Noctua does them better than anyone else, but Thermalright is a close second. My old Arctic e34 Duo I used to have was hard as hell to get the fan clips on, but once done it was done, so meh

Ryzen 5800x is on my pc at -30 in curve optimizer but still get's my atm moment 1 fan cooler master hyper 212 evo v2 (case fans 1 x 120mm artic p12 and 2x 140mm p14, higher rp than my be quiet shadow wing 120 mm fans) working hard

In a game like horizon zero dawn temps is just above 75c, which i think could be lower with a better cooler

I do have some extra coolers but i have some problems with them, i like my dark rock pro 4 but not for mounting

I need to take my gpu out and mabye my motherboard since the fan in the middle can't be connected with the gpu in the case, also i can't see the holes on the fans at the top of the case + the space is tight for my hand

Scythe fuma 2 is easy to mount but the middle fan has some high pitched sounds and i don't think even with the new higher rpm fans, it's good enough to cool my ryzen 5800x

An aio i would love to use but i don't like the noise from the pump, theres no aio that has a 100% silent pump

An easy to mount air cooler (mainly the fans) that is better than a cooler master hyper 212 evo v2 that doesn't costs as much as a premium cooler like the noctua nh-d15 and be quiet dark rock pro 4

If theres a 120mm fan that is noticeable better than the stock cooler master fan. i could try that fan
Honestly, I just use a Wraith Prism and it's fine. The Wraith Prism is the stock cooler for the R9-3900X and R9-7900. The Wraith Prism is just the original Wraith cooler that was designed for the Phenom II X4 940 and FX-8350, both of which produce more heat than the R7-5800X3D.

Hell, in Prime95, the FX-8350 draws 254W while in Blender, the R7-5900X3D only draws 192W. That's a rather large 62W difference so the R7-5800X3D is essentially child's play to the Wraith Prism (so too is the R9-3900X and R9-7900).

Sounds like you got a bad batch of fans or something is setup incorrectly. I’ve never heard motor noise like that from a tr fan.

Aside, fan whine is not coil whine, thus the confusion :)
Sounds like coilwhine

The sound shouldn't be there regardless of how i mount the fans, they move air in the same direction
