Ok starting this game for the first time.

Here are the mods I have installed so far: official hi rez, static mesh part 1 and part 2, pure waters, skyrim hd 2k textures, unoffical skyrim patch, and sky ui

Those are great. You should also try cartographers map markers. Its one of my favorites. It just adds markers for all the businesses and homes in skyrim and alot of other places that didn't have their own separate markers before. You still have to discover the locations like normal.


My frames are dropping to 20 from time to time, kindof randomly. It doesn't seem to matter where I am, but sometimes it will just drop from being pegged at 60, to 20 for like 5-10 minutes. Then it'll suddenly pop back. I don't think it's a mod.

Been messing around with a grass mod, and a few other tweaks however my 670 2gb is just not enough to run it.

every texture mod you can think of along with better bodies for both races customized normal maps

messing with ENB now but my performance suffers to much to run it currently aka 22-24fps. enb off i get aound 35-50

And no no triple screen etc this is just a few shots quickly edited together for that awesome feel.

@cadaveca I gave up on ENB a while ago. I'm using RLO now, Which is actually compatible with ENB. The only have interiors done though

Last pic is taken on the hills located on the west side of skyrim.

I just relearned how to change FOV, I'm thinking about doing 85 for 1920x1080.

Here it is again but with FOV of 85 and double the grass/tree draw distance.

Sometimes I wish the plains grass (thats the one I notice the most, but grass in general) wasn't so clumpy in Skyrim. It really takes away from the look of it for me, I don't like the plains scenes too much simply because of that.

Haven't had any crashes in a while, but I haven't made it to Solstheim yet.

Currently playing on a Samsung 120hz monitor, so much better than my old monitor and the temp hdtv I was using.

With my new video card I have seen memory usage go up over 1800 megs.

Can't wait to get into the new DLC, have been levelling on of my first characters.

I gave the unofficial HD textures and floral over haul ago
It just doesn't look all that great over standard.
The ice looked a bit better, but that's about it.

Gave Superb ENB a go.
It seems this is what primarily brings out the look of the screenshots you have posted.

It's not a mod for people who don't like to blunder around in the dark but none the less it is a lot more realistic than vanilla Skyrim look.

i use Reallike ENB, and then force SSAO via nvidia driver since ENB ssao tends to fuck up in dungeons seeing shadows of further away dungeon locations etc through the walls it just plain sucks where as Real Like ENB theres no haze or extra bs it makes colors a bit more vivid lighting a bit brighter

messed with around 20-30 different ENB configs this is one is the simpliest and easiest to deal with.

Does anyone know if its possible to set the main civil war quest back to default? To remove it completely so I can try the imperials instead? Short of starting a new game I haven't found anything helpful.

Also I should note that I don't use the default InjectSMAA, I use the SweetFX instead main difference I think is that the SweetFX has a custom .ini.

Looks amazing, will be a clear choice for me. I've always been about abundance of grass mods. Most of the marketing shots for ES games have been in forests where it looks like there is that much grass. Then the rest of the gameworld just isn't like that.

Well its official I need more vram with AA turned off im still pegging nearly 2000mb on the GPU and spilling over to system ram to the point of chugging along at 1-2 fps LMAO.

of course ive done the ini edits to increase grass diversity for SFO which also slightly increases grass mod density so it hits harder

add in ENB forced SSAO via the drivers along with 16x Anisotropic filtering

at 1920x1080 im hitting 3GB system ram usage and 2gb Vram with nearly 500-600mb of vram spilling over into system ram causing problems, and this is being run on an SSD

Also unavailable are numerous textures ive done myself for characters as well as normal maps and they are all loose files 0 compression which is whats killing me more than a few textures I am using custom 8192 x 8192 which puts a few single textures into the 100-200mb range.

Ugrid doesnt hit vram hard
it hits system memory and cpu

not the best screenshot ever lol but for shits and giggles
vram usage inside 1700-1800mb
vram usage outside instant max fps drops like a rock lol

uh my frame rate it that tho when just walking around or standing still Hialgoboost tends to provide the largest impact during combat,

I have a much easier method for fixing this

texture compression

simply put Optimizer Texturer lets me customize the downsizing of textures so say i set 4096 as the largest any texture over that size which i have quite a few will be auto downsampled to 4096 then compressed on top of that

example UNP or CBBE skin file average size 64mb my size 120mb+ texture optimizer 33mb i just have to tweak the various folders so certain textures can be tweaked while others can be left alone.

but in my brief testing my texture folder went from nearl 8gb down 5gb thats a huge drop in size. And due to starting with a higher resolution texture and scaling down it didnt look as bad as using a texture made at that size as some extra details due in fact remain.

managed to cut overall texture sizes down by 780mb cut Vram usage by 230mb in game still some hitching but thats from Ugrid settings and I am okay with that. Average FPS with all mods custom ENB files and SSAO via NV control panel is 33-36 fps solid out doors that said AA is off as ENB 0.149 doesnt alow MSAA when it is enabled still i cant complain but i really do miss MSAA
