Elon Musk Demoes "PS5-level Performance" of the AMD-powered Model S In-Dash Game Console

How long until someone bypasses that and recreates the fast & furious ps2 scene?
TBF, that's like one of the first things ppl do with their navigation units anyways, so stop crying about it.

Yeah, Mercedes already got sh*t on cause of this photo:

That's kind of hilarious.

No one is crying here. You must have missed the laughing face at the end. No need to take shots keep calm and comment on. (Incase you missed the last one.)

At least when the battery is being charged, why not use the steering wheel and pedals as game controllers?
Actually, that is how it works on current and past models. One of the games they have had for quite a while is a Mario Kart clone.

No HDMi, No buy

Waste of chips IMO, those could go to actual gaming systems and graphcis cards instead of a car which will rarely be used for gaming, dumb idea and allocation of chips.

Yeah honestly. I'm not really for these types of infotainment systems DVD players etc. Maybe im just too old school.
When your children have been bored for 2 hours already and getting really annoying they come handy.

Someone needs to address the elephant in the room:
Will it run Crysis?

Don't they have phones?

I don't know how people can game with a small monitor off to the side like that. I get the idea that it's something to do while the car is charging, but it's poorly executed.

"Distracted driving" edition.
The car has to be in park, given that you have to control the car through that singular touchscreen while driving. Remember there are no controls in Tesla cars, no wipers, no headlights, no ac, no mirrors, it's all done through that one touchscreen.

Sign of the time's, not for me though, I'm a skinflint.

Calm down guys :D there are alot of ways to tailor this into a responsible solution (dont know weather or not they are doing that), but its nok like it have to play youtube and netflix while driving. Its switch to full functional UI while manual driving but ready for autonomes age (as he also explains a bit :) )

Meh for a PS5 level of performance Tesla need to pay me to play game on it
Oooo edgy. Bet you're still using a GTX 1060.

If you removed the text and the Benz logo off the steering wheel, I'd have said the image came from Cyberpunk 2077...

Now they do.... well sort of. Do you buy phones for young kids??

Anyways these infotainment setups are pretty important on longer trips with young kids. Since our kids are older now and of cell phone age the rear monitor and wireless headphones haven't been used since. However on topic, I'm not sure the Tesla setup falls into the same category if it doesn't have rear passenger monitors, player, etc

This could be a nice way for AMD to get the "Navi 23" into the "automotive chip" category, making TSMC prioritize it higher in its foundry allocation under pressure from the US....
Is this what they call "gaming the system?"

I'm not old enough for that (then again they will save up money and buy one anyway). Anyway, I just thought that it was quite ridiculous to have infotainment in car altogether. But then again, when it comes to cars the more utilitarian car is, the better it is. All you need is speedo, tach, steering wheel, gear stick, that's it. Anything else is useless weight. And the same to car construction, the simpler it is, the better it is.

The latest Tesla Model S comes with an infotainment system with serious gaming capabilities
Is it just me or does this seem like a really bad idea?... Cars have enough distractions in them as it is. The last thing we need is a gaming console mounted where the driver can get at it while driving...

Pretty sure I have a watercooled 3090 in my main system and a watercooled 2080Ti in my spare PC :D

Jeez, is this the Golden Girls support forum?? A gaming PC uses what, at max 2kw at MAXIMUM with a 3090 and a shit ton of CPU cores. We already know AMD make more efficient GPUs and APUs than anyone else so power draw is going to be negligible.

The distraction part, has anyone actually driven any of these cars? I've test driven the new S class with all the screens and the car (as well as Tesla) pretty much drives itself with multiple safety systems. 99% sure it won't allow you to use the infotainment without ensuring passenger safety as it would never pass any driving regulatory bodies (never mind worldwide ones!).

This is pretty much every drivers dream, why not celebrate this amazing push towards our digital future?!

I'm a member on Pistonheads.com, a car site, and they're all complaining the car is too fast (for the average Joe).

I'm a member here, a tech and gaming site, and everyone is complaining the tech is pointless and dangerous .
