EVGA GTX 1070/1080 Overheating Issues Update - New BIOS Revision To Be Released

Can we stop parroting this nonsense about furmark being the problem here.

No computer component should ever fail simply from being 100% utilized.
Its like saying your car can go up to 100mph but at that speed the brakes fail, but its ok because the speed limit on roads is 75mph so going 100mph is unreasonable.

I disagree. Even a car is not designed to red line for 2 hours straight. Something will inevitably fail. Driving 100mph is an analogy for hardcore gaming which you can do for hours on end. Furmark is like red lining the engine with pedal to the metal.

No one is stupid enough to run FurMark 24-7. The point is the VRMs are not properly cooled, which will mean they will be hotter than normal even for normal use. This will over time decrease lifetime and may cause stability problems.

These products are defective and should be replaced or refunded. They will not work as promised, nor will they work as comparable products.

They work as promised... some, run warmer and in the wrong enviro, will overheat. But they work as promised. Again, Furmark.. not a remotely normal situation. Frankly, I am shocked W1z even uses it for temps considering....

This is no longer a problem, for years. In fact, it's a poor stability stress test now. It leans on the gpu, and the clocks+voltage drop. Same problem we've had for years trying to stress test cpus ever since base and boost clocks.
