Finally, Some Good News: GeForce RTX 5090 Supply to Increase in Coming Months

It would be safe to state that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 launch was anything but ideal. Gamers had to deal with whacky NVIDIA marketing material with absurd performance claims, followed by disappointing generational improvement for the RTX 5080, only to be left dealing with abysmal supply leading to obscene shortages and scalper-induced price inflation. However, it does seem like things are about to take a positive turn - NVIDIA is rumored to have ramped up production for its GB202 GPU, which the RTX 5090 is based on, according to a reliable source.

Spotted by VideoCardz, MEGAsizeGPU has claimed that the supply for the GeForce RTX 5090 GPU will soon be "stupidly high", which is absolute music to our ears. In a reply thread, the source further claimed that at least one AIB partner already has "tons of cards", which sure does paint a promising picture for the future. As such, the source expects that the supply will reach customers in about a month, which is to be expected since production has been cranked only recently. Apparently, demand for the GB200 GPU has been lower than usual, forcing NVIDIA to switch to producing GeForce GPUs instead. Of course, the margins for the gaming GPUs are lower, but the production capacity has to go somewhere.

The GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 families are expected to arrive in the next few weeks - both of which will be met with stiff competition from AMD's RX 9070 and 9070 XT cards, also expected to launch early next month. Early performance leaks have hinted at the RX 9070 and RTX 5070 families somewhat neck-and-neck in raw performance, with AMD arguably having the upper hand in raster performance and overall value, if the pricing leaks are to be believed. Of course, how the launch plays out remains to be seen, but it would be safe to assume that supply will likely be better this time around. But as always, accept leaks and rumors with a fair amount of skepticism.

Artificial shortage to make prices go up, and as soon as it becomes available, it will sell like hot cakes at an absurd price.

Oh look, after older stock has been cleared due "shortages", the magical supply increase arrived all of a sudden.

That's why I installed AC unit for 1000$, bought new PSU for 500$ and now waiting patiently couple of months until I will be able to buy one.
Drivers are bugged/ connectors melting, PCI black screens etc, lots of issues needs to be addressed anyway.
RTX 5090 needs lots of investment just to run, I can't just buy it and put in inside without any preparation

Unusualy "hot" cakes, I may add. Crispy! Careful not to get burn ;)

No way, this totally didn't happen almost every GPU gen before today

So, prices gone from $1999 to $2999 and people will celebrate after a few months because prices will go down to $2299 for example.
And retailers will be advertising
"It was $2999, now only $2299"

Wonderful.

It is indeed a difficult undertaking.
A lot of preparation and devotion... maybe even a little bit of madness!

They can keep it, I'll stay with my RTX 3090 Ti that works just fine without having to worry about the 12+4 connector melting.

OR...
Blackwell is proving to be a overheating, bug ridden disaster and even M$ stopped buying it, so we're generously switching
production to something we can sell to you plebs.
As others have already predicted, don't expect prices to tumble, sellers will hang on to those
artificially inflated margins like grim Death.
Somehow the RTX 4080 sitting in my case seems like a better purchase that it did a few weeks ago.

Leprechauns are real :toast:

The trick is to force people to go nuts over these things in the first few days of them going on sale.
You can get these losers to drop $3000 on a $2000 card.
You might even be able to get them to drop $4000 on that same $2000 card.
It's really sad, but they lack self control and they have credit cards.
If they had to pay with their own money they would think twice about waiting in the cold for a video game part with marginal performance improvement, shoddy build quality - melting its own wires.
FOMO is powerful.

It's amusing how news now comes from random people on Twitter.

Im more depressed knowing people still use Twitter....

Do they come with a Asbestos Fireproof Suit ?

Hurray. Time to sell my rtx 4090 for at rtx 5080. Great upgrade right?

Or should go for a 5090. Can't deside. Don't try to talk reason with me to keep my 4090....

Just get the one with wire load distribution monitoring, Astral or something similar. Should be the norm by now.

Well shit. The price of everything is still going up, the country is in literal turmoil, I'm terrified everyday of my benefits getting cut...But yeah, good news for a GPU I can't afford nor have zero interest in.

Nothing like spending an additional $1,000+ on a $2,000 GPU to not even fix the issue. You get the privilege of having to install ASUS's "lovely" software to even use it and even then it won't save your computer if it's unattended.

Looking at the flood of burnt GPUs on the Nvidia reddit after everyone is checking their cables. These should all be recalled ASAP. This is not remotely acceptable.

Nice to see the stocks will increase, let's hope the prices will lower as well

We already knew that Nvidia said it would be a few months before more become readily available. Not sure that this tells us anything new.
