I'll take the heat any day for these random iops...4TB: Up to 1,600,000 IOPs 4TB: Up to 22,000 IOPS....yes please...more heat. I ran ssd benchmarks and get over 1.6mil on the random reads. Juice me up baby. 88mph back to the future!!!

from some exceptions proving the rule, cpu/gpu throttle boost clocks to stay within temp/power envelope, not to extend its life.

my cpu/gpu are LC, dumping heat outside the case, so none of my 5 m.2 go above 45C running at full speed all the time ( i have a desktop, not a laptop on battery, and dont leave it sit idle),
so please explain how full power will shorten any of my drives life?

Yes i will put it the post, only 2TB drives are affected. Thanks for this.

I did update many drives already, out of ten SN770, three had lost all contents after update.

That doesn't sound too good. Anything special about those that had amnesia?

not really surprised, as most companies will state data loss is possible, and important data should be backed up, and personally even clone the data, if its not mentioned in the fw notes.
