Added them both, though it's weird they offered Complete Edition instead of Redux. Yeah, Redux is pretty cheap as it is, but...

what is the difference between redux and complete edition or are they the same?

The "Redux" is the remastered version. ;) "Metro: Last Light Complete Edition" isn't something you would like to play if you got the Redux in your library. It's not bad by any means, but it's quite a downgrade. After they pulled it from STEAM and it was sold out on the official stores it became pretty much unobtainable, with some resurfaced keys or gifts later going for up to 155€. The giveaway is like a stock market crash for these resellers, lol.

I have to step in here.

I bought Metro 2033 redux and Last Light redux on Steam and had to refund them both after just 1 hour, Metro 2033 redux is almost a completely different game to the original in atmosphere, tone and visuals in a bad way.

I grabbed the freebie though so thanks for that.

Damn, after watching that video I kind of agree with you. I beat Last Light at launch, so I will do redux for last light, but never did beat metro 2033 original, so I will do original on my Deck for that one.

You refunded them just because they're different? Wow, you're hard on your games!

Just a reminder that Chip's Challenge has been free on Steam since 2015 and now has the original version (with original sound effects) as an option through the menu>preferences, which is much more pleasing to the eye than the remake.
I still have the floppies of Best Of Microsoft Entertainment Pack which I managed to copy, then ran Chip's in Win 3.1 through DosBox which in fact, is more satisfying.

It's a lovely, relaxing game, but it gets really hard as your city grows and you run out of space to widen and extend your roads.

Heads up: if you can't claim the free [ Metro: Last Light Complete Edition ] because you already own the base game with less DLC, check out the follwing thread on STEAM:

If you got the "Limited Edition" (which includes the Novel DLC), then you need to add the game via browser console to not loose the Novel DLC. If you only got the "Standard Edition" you can just remove the game from the library, relaunch STEAM and then claim the Complete Edition. You should have then all 7 DLC's in your account. Or 8 DLC's if you owned the "Limited Edition" with the Novel DLC.

I got Metro Last Light and noticed that I have the original Metro 2033 on my Steam account.
Must have been free in the past because I don't remember buying it.

I just checked, and looks like they did the same giveaway for the other game, "Metro 2033", in 2021, Mar 11-15. :D What a nice company.

Also got it in my library, along with the other games and all DLC's. Only missing the "Novel DLC" for Last Light, which was a preorder exclusive. Wish they would make it FREE, too.

That would defeat the purpose of being a preorder exclusive, which is to entice a disposable income consumer to dispose of their income to the distributor/developer.

I am little confused with this 7 DLCs?

I did not own the game claimed it on the 19th May but it only shows 1 DLC item in the DLC section. What is this 7 DLCs you talking about? Please post screenshots. Thanks

I'm lost with all these editions.

Does this affect the Redux version at all?

It's a lovely, relaxing game, but it gets really hard as your city grows and you run out of space to widen and extend your roads.

The downside (one of them) to the game is that that stuff doesn't matter much. Yeah the service veichles won't get around as effectively, but like having several miles of non moving cars on the highway passing the city has no bearing on the game at all.
