A couple of the gaming sites have been doing this as long as Epic has been releasing these Christmas freebies. Too easy for anyone here at TPU to just visit one of these sites and repost.

These gaming sites typically scan through various Reddits and some social media. If I recall correctly, there are a couple of Redditors with particularly good track records. Maybe they have especially acute memory of branding and iconography for videogames, really good observational skills and deductive reasoning. Anyhow the gaming sites won't put the spoilers in the headline, you actually have to read the article to find out what game the gift wrap is supposed to represent.

Anyone who got DNF Duel out of that is special, to say the least. They appear to have broken with tradition of exposing a teaser element in the wrapping paper.

I got DNF as the art style reminded me of Dark Stalkers and i loved that game.

I have only had a quick try so far and first impression is, This could be fun with friends.

Technically you could get your hands on matériel old enough to inform you that at one point alcohol and tobacco were top level sponsors.
At which point you might notice how closely some of the in-game signage resembles those in use throughout Class B era rally racing.
Also it lets you select "sake" as your blood type. Suggesting further references to age restricted substance(s) lie ahead.


Can I just shout a HOORAY after being almost sure there wasn't going to be a single game I would even consider this year, again.

Steam does that crap too. I like GOG's way of doing it, with a warning that the game page being loaded contains a game that might not be good for kids. You click that you understand and proceed. Simple and doesn't waste anyone's time.

I always put 01-01-1980. If that date was good enough for the original IBM PC, it's good enough for me.
