Software RT through the shader cores combined with the GTX 16's simultaneous FP16/32 execution (at least I think it's that). Not very efficient, but it works.

Graphics are part of the enjoyment for many in video games.
They are to me as well, but not an absolutely necessary part.

I mean, I love what the creators did with Black Mesa, but that doesn't prevent me from enjoying the original Half-Life, for example.

And it really shouldn't. A good remake shouldn't replace the original unless the original was not good in the first place imo. I think the Resident Evil remakes, at least the 2nd, and 4th one, are a perfect example of Remakes imo.

Or, conversely, it should replicate the experience exactly while upgrading the graphics. Make the same experience just a little more enjoyable.
