Yeah...good old school cinematics with the great modern visuals really hit the nerve and the game-play looks more like what's suppose Diablo to look alike then Diablo itself.....all in all very promising.....

PoE 2 FTP?? even if they put it for sale they deserve the support of the entire community. Those Devs gave and still keep giving content on PoE for free.
Good content worth of hundreds of hours of gameplay. One of the few Devs teams/companies i respect atm. Best of luck for them with PoE 2

If I am not mistaken the big money today is not in how many copies you will sell, but in how many players you will attract to sell them "merchandise" IN the game.
So, probably they are not doing it because they are a humanitarian organization.
In any case, we need good games today that the market is flooded with highly advertised half baked unoptimized beta releases.

In any case, we need good games today that the market is flooded with highly advertised half baked unoptimized beta releases.

Sure....but they are not greedy at all and they have their principals as far as I know they will only sell cosmetics and early access costs for those people who wants to play it early other than that game will not have any pay-to-win elements or predatory monetization methods which is really rare in today's world...

That was the idea 10-ish years ago, but as far as I see it, it's slowly dying, except for CoD, EA and games targeted at teenagers.

I wish but it isn't. GTA5 is one of the most profitable and has high player counts of Steam still. CoD, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Battlefield (RIP), PUBG, and they're even pushing it into single player games like Far Cry and whatnot designing them to be co-op from the get go.

That's just EA, Ubisoft, Epic and a handful of other AAA studios pushing their agenda. Outside of their scope, microtransactions are dying.

You forgot to add Valve to that list. We can also add Activision Blizzard (Overwatch). And the upcoming Delta Force game. Hard to say it is dying when the biggest and most profitable games in the industry do it. Whenever a studio gets big enough to have more than a niche following it goes down that route. Or the studio is bought up, broken up or closed. Even New World Interactive started to go down that route slightly with Insurgency 2, though now they were bought out and sold off, with big layoffs. I assume any sequel will be much the same.

Yes there might be a few niche games with small player bases but that isn't the majority of games.

If you only talk about online shooter clones from AAA studios, then sure, microtransactions are a thing. The point is that the gaming industry is way bigger and much more diverse than that. I've bought hundreds of games in the last few years (mostly thanks to massive discounts and giveaways), and none of them have microtransactions in them.
