OFFICIAL Game Soundtracks You Love

One of my all time favorites:

I got given the DEMO floppy disk of that as a birthday present decades ago... i'd forgotten it existed

Ah, the shareware days! Epic (the publishers of OMF2097) was one of the pioneers of the distribution model. I loved their DOS games, and especially the soundtracks. Without access to sheet music, I learned to play those themes by ear on the piano :)

Sweden in Minecraft was a annoying song back in the days but today people cry about it being the most OG song in Early 2010s

love the opening of FF12

I pretty much love everything Mass Effect but this from the Legendary edition has to be one of the best .......................

You hear this type of music in most movie trailers today
Yeah but it is also a perfect match for the atmospherics of the ME games, loads of the music in them I normally wouldn't give a second thought to but much of it is so appropriate for the game mood, I mean Bioware released the full soundtrack for the 3 games when they released the legendary edition last month and there was nearly 4 hours of tunes.

There are games with a OST of up to 5 hours !

Nier Replicant - Songs of the ancients

Went back to play Hatsune Miku for the first time in years.

I always liked this song / rhythm map:

Of course, if you don't want to hear the game-buttons being pushed, the original music video is:

And yes, if the voice sounds a bit robotic, that's the point. Hatsune Miku is a computer program, practically an "instrument" that's programmed by artists. Virtual singer if you haven't been introduced to this before. But in Japan its caused a huge number of artists to get a "singer" on their music, so a lot of Hatsune Miku songs are... seriously good compositions.

"Future Tone" is just a collection of 200+ songs (plus button-maps so that you have a basic video game on top of it). So the soundtrack is just... huge. Made by a huge variety of musicians of various skill levels. And with DLC songs constantly popping up, I don't think its really feasible to find a collection of the whole soundtrack.

---------------

A 2nd "virtual singer" (a "sister" of Hatsune Miku) is Rin, and my favorite song with her voice is Tokyo Teddy Bear:

--------

There are two male singers. I actually like the slightly lower voice of Kaito over Rin's twin brother Len. But I'm pretty sure Len is more popular... anyway, Kaito's "Snowman" is pretty good IMO.

No. I don't speak Japanese, I have no idea what they're saying, lol. Insert weeaboo taunts here.

--------

Their most popular song is probably... Senbonzakura? If I were to take a guess?

Rimworld's soundtrack - by Alistair Lindsey

Amiga anybody? I've never owned one myself, but a few of my school buddies did. I remember how much I coveted their A500 for its sound capabilities:

This is why I say: if you want to make a great game, just make great music and you're halfway there.

Something old...

"Dig"

...and something from not so long ago.

"Hope Remains"

Oh man, I absolutely love the Unreal soundtrack (and everything by Alexander Brandon!) This one's among my favorites:

Specially the ending credits song:

I only play on PC , so for me its always been the STALKER games music. Fallout 4 is pretty good also.
