SLI anyone? If anyone has that much cash to spend on something like this then good for them, but for normal people this is a waste of money.

Heh, well, if it is indeed better than anything new ATI has to offer, it's basically like, "Since ATI's cards are dwarfed in comparison, you'll buy this for any amount we charge. Please bend over nnnnnnnnn...now."

Now now children, don't be upset about the price. It's a bit like looking at the Ferrari Ultra Super Jet-Edition; something people dream of but don't really drive, even in the car enthusiast crowd. If there weren't cards like that we would have nothing to strive for, and that would suck even more than not having one. Sure it's a rip-off, but they don't really expect to sell bucket-loads, just to show off.

Another analogy is checking out the super-hot chicks coming out to meet the spring, and then actually going home to your ol' misses. Naturally my misses is super-hot and all that, but I'm trying to help you other guys understand :D

sounds like they just wanted to have a faster card than ati....$900 is a joke. For $900 it should be at least 2x faster than ati.....sure they have a card that beats ati's R600, but it will cost you as much as buying 2 r600's....

what does this mean? lol... oh ati fan right? lol ahh flaming the thread.. how typical...
at least say it so it makes sense..lol..

so, what how did nvidia was? lol is that english?
and fyi.. the 8800 stomps ati lol.. theres no if's and's or butts about it now from what I been hearing.. and it's exactly what I expected.. they make products for people who cant afford the best products.. they are what they are.. you want an aswome car u buy from ferrari. u want something that sounds awsome but isn't quite as great.. u buy from mitsubishi... it is what it is.. lol..

ati is mitsubishi and nvidia is ferrari.. deal with it... lol.. just like AMD..lol..

Truth is, ATi has better video cards for the money.
You're a fanboy period.

He was talking about the $900 price tag for a overclocked 8800GTX. While it may be better then the X2900XTX, the X2900XTX is not almost a thousand dollars. I for one would just get the cheaper card and phase change it and overclock it myself, while saving $600 and using it to buy another X2900XTX for crossfire, that would stomp a 8800GTX in SLi or even a single Ultra. Prolly not going to sell to many Ultras...

The 8800Ultra wont cost above 700euros ( 800$ ) unless Nvidia wants them to stay on the shelves that is. Also we may see more pixel shaders in that unit not to mention that the Overclocks will be able to reach 700/2200 for the fun of it.
Nice card but the 8900 is around the corner so its quite useless...

PS : There may even be faster timings memory modules than the ones found on the GTS/GTX models.

WOW! Never really thought people as ignorant as you existed until now. How about instead of licking the feet of nvidia - you take no side at all. You are a CONSUMER not part of the nvidia team! You are a very good example of a stupid ignorant fanboy.

No offense, but it doesn't get much more fanboyish than your post. I currently use a 7950 GX2 (the top DX9 card). The R600 and the 8800 ultra still are both yet to be released. Before I go about spending my money on an 8800, I'm waiting to see what the R600 can do. All you know is what you've read on the internet about a card that hasn't even been released yet.

Edit: I just checked your system specs, you have an 8800. It must infuriate you to know that you spent a lot of money on a graphics card, the r600 may be a lot more powerful, and you spent that money on a possibly inferior graphics card when there are no real DX10 games released yet.

Thank you, i was surprised how most others ignored how arrogant he was. If i was going to say something like that nVidia had better be giving me free 8800 Ultras.

Benpi NOONE who has an 8800 spend their money wrong since it is better than the 7950GX2 in DX9 and the only card capable of playing DX10 games ( along with the rest of the 8xxx) and all that 6+ months prior to the ATI counterpart.
WHEN Ati releases the R600 ( which wont be better according to their own reps ) we will see how good or bad it is and how much better or worse the 8800 is.
However with the 8800 Ultra out and the 8900 around the corner even IF the R600 is better i doubt it will have enough time to enjoy it :)

This thread has become retarded. Of course the R600 will stomp the 8800 in it's final version because it is new technology. The 8800 ultra is probably just nVidia showing off what they can do... trying to pimpslap ATi by stealing the high-end card buyers with a rather bloated price tag for something 5~10% faster.
