GTX 980/970 Club

Has EVGA GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0 released already? The vendor I'm planning to buy it from says that it'll be ready for dispatch by the end of the day, but I don't quite trust in them >.>

Hi all.I'm new at Techpowerup.I have Asus 970 Strix sli in my system. My cards works 1459/7600 with %110 power target with 1.2V.Temperatures are 70-75 degree at fully load.Im searching new bios mode with higher voltage.Do you know where can we find?At link there is new bios one.Which is Modified with Nibitor. But there are not details. How can we check options about voltages before bios mod?Or do you know best bios for Asus Gtx970?

Thanks.
I think the "modified with nibitor" text is a bug.

No way to check voltages reliably without flashing.

If you click on the "find compatible bios" link, then it will list all bioses that should be compatible. Just get the newest one.

For anyone waiting for the MSI GTX 970 Gaming or the ASUS GTX 970 Strix to be in stock Newegg has them both in stock for now and not at the inflated price of some sites. The free game makes either a great buy.

There seems to be a large push in a lot of countries, the MSI 970 seems to be on sale everywhere, now including games too. It's not like NVidia need more sales, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Now if only amazon and newegg would get the Asus strict in stock and bundle it with ac unity

Well the Strix and MSI Gaming share similar designs and that 0 fan speed mode so they are very similar if your just looking for the strix to do that on top of their cooling capacity is the same for the most part.

Im an Asus guy. :-\

Just throwing it out there, I am indifferent now between Asus and MSI at least so I was just suggesting in case you were looking for something particular about the STRIX (Other than it being asus) because its sometimes not mentioned that it has the same types of tech under the hood.

I have the 780 version and im in love with it. Gotta go with what I know works. :)

No one can fault that, I am the same way on my own equipment mostly but I sometimes get a little adventures every now and then :P

Add me to the club! Picked up an Asus Strix Gtx 970. Haven't had an Nvidia card in years. After a R9 280 with real bad coil whine, an overheating R9 280x and R9 290, I decided to switch sides. I couldn't be happier.

Impulse buy - its arriving today! MSI GTX 970 Golden Edition. Yes, I know that's a good bit more for a backplate and all copper heatsink!

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming Windforce Edition .... awesome card. Looks/Cooling/Performance.

Im in. Just purchased 2x ASUS Strix GTX 970 to run F@H on. For the money, they're a beast of a card.

Faint coil whine/buzz on the MSI GTX 970 Golden Edition. Not totally obnoxious (like my HD 7950), but there even with vertical sync. Used my trusty paper towel tube to make sure it wasn't the power supply. I have an older Cooler Master Stacker case with metal mesh side panels, so if something is making a noise I'll hear it.

Hey all.I should ask 1 more thing. Thanks for your patience. I have 970 sli and at %100 load, first card is 72 degree and second one 65 degree. It seems normal. But my vrm temperatures are abnormal.First card is 91 degree and second one is 88.Stock speeds or overclocking speeds have same temperature values. Is it a problem? If it is a problem, must i use thermal paste or pad on memory modules? Can you help me about this?Which part should i use paste or pad?

Hi there !

Yes there is a way to obtain higher voltages however, this means flashing a custom Bios along with the associated risks. I'm running custom bios on my Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gamings cards. You can find out more info on this thread here http://www.overclock.net/t/1517316/...-970-and-980-firmware-nolimits-and-gamestable
