HIS Readying AGP HD 4670

Have you tried to improve/fix your case's airflow?

For sure. I did it long ago, but went I still went liquid, plus added 2 fans. All temps are nice and cool.

lol, there still making cards for AGP, they need to let it go.

Im not to worried about cooling heat or power. I just wanna know if this agp 4670 is better than the agp 3850. Its looking like it wont be sadly.

This is just for reference. Drivers may change the outcome a bit.

If thatd the score for the PCI-E version, don't expect the AGP version to be doing anything good.(Unless its for like a internet/ casual gaming rig)

they be better off having the 1GB model.

sigh. at the request of someone, i removed my witty, scathing joke :(

now my joke is DEAD. DEAD LIKE AGP SHOULD BE.

I wonder if this card having a newer architecture core 128bit memory interface, would beat an HD3850 with it's older architecture core but a 256bit memory interface

Oh, and Mussels, that joke wasn't so funny anyways, so no harm done :p  J/K :toast:

Whats with all those people saying they should AGP die?
Whats your problem?

AGP killed my father :(

its old, its worthless. PCI-E works with more than just video cards, so its a lot more adaptable. Remember ISA? that died a long time ago, because a better technology came out called PCI. AGP died a long time ago, thanks to PCI-E... just that some people havent realised yet.

Well, for starters, everytime anyone buys an AGP card, a kitten has to be sacrificed to apeace the gods and prevent them from wiping humanity :p

AGP 8x is about the same as PCI E 4x.

Motherboards i would recommend for More Current hardware

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=AM2NF3-VSTA&s=
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=ALiveDual-eSATA2&s=
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0&s=

3850 and 4670 AGP i wouldn't recommend anything less than 754 A64 or a P4 EE 478, Skt 939 with a Athlon 64 or a 775 with P4 EE. Athlon XP would require some heavy overclocking to feed those cards, it has trouble feeding mine it seems.

Does AGP have any benefits over PCI-e? Seems retarded releasing AGP cards now. Sure there's other people with AGP mobos, but if there isn't many new cards getting released then get a new bloody mobo ffs.

AGP 8x is about the same as PCI Express 4 in bandwidth, meaning i wouldn't stick a gaming card in anything less than a PCI Express 4 (Electrical) slot.

Effectively it's the same as PCI-E 1.1 x8. You've to remember with graphics cards, it's a one-way traffic for the most of the part. So it's 250 MB/s x8, sufficient for an RV730.

Some people like to keep their older AGP machines going for some reason like me. I still fire the X2 4200+ every once in a while and play older games. But then again i still have a working Pentium MMX computer too with Voodoo 2 SLI.

Main reason, Older games

your older games already run fine on older hardware.

Quake 2 aint going to get any better with 32xAA than it was on your old 6800GT with 8x AA!

What i was getting at Mussels is people keep their older machines for older games, but those who have Machines of the 939/775 believe they should have an upgrade path, btw AMD is not in full support of these cards, they are required however to develop drivers to work for them.

I also noticed the Cooling looks exactly like the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer 3 that is on my 9800 Pro AIW.

Looks good, have fun AGP users

yay another agp card where my p4 can drown in

Let s775 DIE. It's out of date. It's power inefficient. The world has moved on. s1156 and s1366 are far far superior. Just kill those old processor upgrades for s775. Why oh why would you want to upgrade an old dinosaur like s775.

Let SATA DIE. It's out of date. The world has moved on to SATA 300. No reason to make any new drives compatible with the old standards. New drives should report "error, old mainboard, let it die."

Let PCIE 1.1 DIE. It's out of date. It's slower than PCIE 2.0. The world has moved on. No need for compatibility. New cards should be PCIE 2.0 only. GPUs should report "error, old mainboard, let it die."

Let MS Office 2010 be compatible with Win 7 only. XP and Vista are out of date. Let them die. MS Office, actually, any new software versions, should be W7 only. Trying to install software on older OS should block and error "old OS, upgrade, let it die."

W7 has an XP compatibility mode. What were they thinking?

Oh, wait. :shadedshu
