HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

I don't know if I'm late to the party but...

I just stopped by to say that 335 is indeed the last supported NVidia driver for HyperSLI, but I just used DifferentSLI with the latest NVidia driver (359.00) and it worked (even though my cards aren't different!)

Seems like DifferentSLI is the way forward from now on.

The boards your using don't have to be different to use this, differentsliauto just tries to sli 2 different boards where as the official video drivers only sli 2 of the same board and only on sli certified motherboards.

Might just be me, but the primary download link for the patched file isn't working, and I'm scared to download something from a page in which I can't understand jack xD (Also, the apparent 10 minute wait before you can download, if I understood it correctly, is bothering me ^^; )

I did manage to get the alternate file, attempting to install it all at the moment. I think it might be helpful for other people who might want to try this out if it was more easily available xD

The file I tried to download was the 359.00 version, though I did also try the one prior to that before I found the link to it, neither was working for me

Cool, thanks for putting in the extra work

I just rebooted and the files installed beautifully (I had some trouble getting an administrator CMD to open, but that's just my inadequacy) and the option for SLI appeared

Assuming both cards work as they should there should hopefully not be any problems from here on. Thank you very much! You just saved me a whoooole lot of hassle xD (I just installed everything in a new chassi, and then had to switch the PSU. I'm not sure I could have handled having to reinstall everything for a new motherboard @_@ )

Apologies if I missed it somewhere, but should I uninstall the old version (and if so, what is the best approach?) or do I just run the installer with the new file in the folder?

Hi there, seems like i can get some answers on my questions here.

I just tried to run a gtx 660 and a gtx 760 together as an sli solution using DifferentSLIAuto..

Situation:
-Gtx 660 and 760 together in the mainboard, but no sli bridge on them (currently don't find mine..)
-system running on gtx 760, hardwaremanager says about the 660 that it stoped, because it reportet some problems (Code 43)
-then i tried to make magic with differentsliauto, after reboot, it says in the bottom right corner "testing mode" ( running Windows 10 Pro Build 10240)
-Sli option not available so i checked the hardwaremanger again, and i get the same error for my 660..
-after some search i read on the thread of differentsliauto that there have to match the first 3 DEV numbers that the cards will work together.

Unfortunately the example says that these 2 cards will match..
NVIDIA_DEV.1185.098A.10DE = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660"
NVIDIA_DEV.1185.106F.10DE = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

Then i checked my cards and find out that mine don' match.. 760 is DEV_1187 and 660 says DEV_11C0..

So my finial question is, is there any way to run these 2 cards together?
I would be very thankfull for any helpfull response, because I'm new to the world of SLI and I hope to get some more gpu power by doing this..

To RejjeN:

Just download the new patched driver and run the Install.cmd and reboot, then go to the nvidia control panel and activate sli mode. Be sure to run the official installer first before doing that.

Hmm, turns out it may not have been bad links at all with the prior patched files, rather it seems Gamefront has banned Sweden (among many other countries) from using their service :/

Thanks for the help, everything seems to be working as it should.

Edit: By the way, do you have your own thread/page/whatever that perhaps isn't as bloated? xD Since it's called "HyperSLI etc" it can probably be a little confusing for people (Though it's a good thing you're hanging out here for those who find this not knowing Hyper is discontinued).

No I don't have my own thread, this one sort of got taken over, but while hypersli is officially discontinued, some people are still using it.

I tried differentSLI (following your guide) and it didn't give any errors (Only that the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.) I restarted but no SLI option appeared. I use 2 GTX560Ti boards on a crossfire combatible motherboard (Asus P8P67 LE)

I also changed the PCIe slot to 4X

Could it be because I have windows 8.1 motherboard driver but windows 10 operating system? There is no windows 10 driver out for my motherboard.

If your running windows 10 for your operating system you would install this driver (after installing the official drivers from nvidia):

If the first link doesn't work try the turbobit link, read the readme in the download on how to use the 2nd rar file included, you might also need to go to "c:\windows\system32\drivers" and
manually rename "nvlddmkm.sys" to "nvlddmkm.old" and run the Install.cmd again.

Okay, I used the 2nd rar file, renamed the nvlddmkm.sys, ran install.cmd (tho I'm not sure if you should do something with the certificates as stated in the readme), rebooted and actually got it to show the SLI part. Once I tried to apply it, it started processing, crashing the Nvidia control panel few minutes later. Restarted my computer and now it doesn't seem to use the drivers at all (only one screen works, weird resolution etc). Also the control panel won't start (neither the nvidia experience software).

Reinstalled nvidia drivers and tried again but the outcome is the same.

You can try updating your motherboard drivers to windows 10 and try installing the driver again, make sure you run nvidias' original installer first though, you would only worry about the cert signing if you see
errors in the Install.cmd output stating that there were errors there.

The thing is that my motherboard doesn't have windows 10 drivers. To make sure I did the whole process again with doing the clean intall on nvidia drivers and software.

I didn't have the latest BIOS tho, but I have now. But everything stays the same. I did change the slot to 4X from 2X in the new bios too and also enabled Intel virtual machine thingy.

I'm a little confused here, your trying to run windows 10 drivers on a motherboard that only goes up to windows 8.1? In that case you'll need to install this patched video driver instead:

You can't run incompatible drivers, the results would be unpredictable. I just assumed you either already had windows 10 motherboard drivers installed or you were going to install them.
Try the entire video driver installation process again, this time use nvidia installer for 8.1.

Nvidia has posted a hotfix driver 359.12 for notebooks, it fixes the following issue:

Game crashes on certain GeForce GTX 860M notebooks

They have posted drivers for windows 7, 8, & 10, these are for notebooks only, I don't think they need to be patched myself, but if anyone wants a patched version of
these drivers, let me know here.
