And if the tested drive is used as boot drive for the OS, then the results will never be reliable anyway, to much background use and all kind of programs that interfere such as AV.

Hi,
Frankly I've never seen any difference between a os disk and pure storage disk.
Of course I go to properties/ unblock apps before I extract all or just use .exe files to run.

The biggest difference in performance I ever saw with my 990 PRO was when I reinstalled Windows.

Even though the drive was installed as a secondary data-drive, it still became a lot faster
(the drive was also just an empty drive in both cases, with nothing installed on it yet).

Before reinstalling Windows:

And this is after I reinstalled Windows:

Not sure why reinstalling Windows made such a huge difference but it did.

I love how everyone here is pointing the finger at everything else besides Samsung.. nothing on my system has changed, in the two months.. hell I hardly use this PC!.. take that back, started with the 2x firmware then upgraded to the 3 and now 4.. so if ANYTHING is to blame it's Samsung themselves slowed down the damn drive

Right. 500k to 800k random writes on a 1,550,000 rated drive is just normal to the people here. No big deal just deal with it. Anyways. Hope Samsung releases more firmwares to address this. It's not normal. don't listen to the people here. Other people on other hardware sites than this are having the same issue. It's not normal. No matter what the users here "say".

For me the IOPS is sometimes 400/500k, other times it's 1.400/1.500k in Magician. But 970 Evo Plus is only 393k/413k instead of 620k/560k. No idea what's going on.

Garbage Samsung products apparently.. anyone old enough to remember IBM "deathstars" was bad enough to make them sell off their entire storage division

Hello.
I have the same issue with mine Samsung 970 EVO 0,5TB. There is a lot of free space on the drive.

My Samsung Magician results

CrystalDiskMark results

Have you got any idea what is the reason of such a bad results in writing?
I have historical results in my Samsung Magician and there was difference about 10% between reading and writing?
I'm running on Win11 with latest updates 23H2.

I have the same issue with my second drive

There is no problem of overheating and overflowing on both drives.
Haven't change anything in my computer, I just updated Win11, Samsung Magician, drivers.
