What did you think happened? That's nuts, even with heavy CPU thermal throttling, due to a bad heatsink mount!
No idea. The issue existed with both R5 3600 and R7 5800X CPUs and with a custom loop so there wasn't temp issues. Updating the BIOS, clearing the CMOS, trying different RAM etc. didn't help.

Could it have been a short by an arachnid, literally?! I saw an arachnid on the bottom of my Asus A7V8X-X, (Via KT400 version, from 2003, which I got before the A7N8X-X) around the time of seeing the BIOS giving false "New CPU installed!" messages.

One thing that's making my issues particularly tricky to pin down is the fact that they don't happen 100 percent of the time that I game. Sometimes I'll encounter them while gaming/chatting with friends on Discord (I have my discord overlay disabled by default), and then other days I'll be able to game/chat without issue. The problems aren't happening every single time. Just last night I was able to play Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga without so much as a hiccup, but the night before had the issues while playing Battlefront II (when I recorded my video evidence).

I hella doubt that as I clean my PC components regularly.

Sounds pretty much just like my issues with that CHVIIHero board. Maybe 1 of 5 reboots made everything work normally. I had mostly those stutter/cracking shit when watching videos from Youtube.

I was wondering how it got there! I didn't have the motherboard for long at that time, LOL. I had my PC tower on the floor, right on the carpet, though.

I have actually the Nvidia version of that board. Surprisingly good for a single channel Nforce2 board without 12V plug.

Before I got the nForce 2 version of that board, I got the A7V8X-X in November, 2003 and was using it until 2006, IIRC. (maybe 2007?) Yes, all the Asus socket 462 motherboards that I know of, draws from the +5V rail.

It somehow got into my "pac man" ATX tower case.

I'm jus curious if changing up RAM clocks done anything to mediate this?

It was that there was an arachnid or I at least saw a tiny web! IIRC, I pulled the tiny webbing away, after my Asus A7V8X-X became possessed with a false "New CPU installed!" message from the BIOS.
It was not long after I got the motherboard, which was around $110, IIRC. (apparently was typical for 2003 dollars)

Here's some screenshots of my BIOS settings. Most everything is set to auto/stock because I don't know what needs changing and what doesn't

I only know memory stuff really. But if looks like your are good on that. XMP / EXPO is enabled. FLCK is 2000, "Low Latency Mode" is Disabled (good thing) and your UCLK Ratio is 1:1

zentimings is more useful to see than screenshots of bios auto settings

As AM5 shouldn't really have the same rampant USB issues, I'd suspect the eBay board at this point

Damn...And I liked this board too. But I guess that's a risk you take with buying refurbs/used parts...or even new parts I guess. I'll keep testing/playing games, but also think about buying a new board. Newegg's got the X670E Master for $380, which isn't bad. I'll keep my options open though.

What BIOS are you on? I really like the Master too, but it couldn't run 8000 MT/s well so thats why I switched for testing.

Also do you have issues when XMP/EXPO is not enabled?

F32b from Zentimings above.

@Gmr_Chick -- That's a beta BIOS. You might try going back to the last stable - F30

I've had @#*(&@ luck with GB beta bios'

I noticed you've got an X670E, but your bios shows you have not enabled PBO on the CPU - are you using the higher tier chipset for the PCIE lanes and more i/o stuff?

My 7600x runs great on the ASRock B650E PG-ITX...I only needed an OC-capable board to use PBO for undertemp/volting the CPU for an SFF build. that said I uh, dont think pushing the CPU on yer board gonna fix this issue, necessarily, lol, but. If you're looking to save some cash on a new mobo, a B650(E) board that has the i/o you need may also work well? Also (if you can hold out long enough), when the X870 boards launch, I would guess the 600-series boards will drop in price, at least a lil bit? :ohwell:

Try to go lower on VSOC if you can, I doubt you really need 1.25V for 2000/3000

Same story with BIOSes as it was on AM4 - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm not sure you absolutely need the latest AGESA in the beta bios, AGESA and new BIOSes are the home of Murphy's law

I can't seem to remember. Did you do a clean install in the end?

Yeah GB Beta BIOS can be really iffy. Things randomly are enabled now when Auto before didn't. I would go back to the last none beta BIOS. aka anyone without a letter at the end.
Damn it, so THAT'S why the BIOS was marked F32b - the 'b' stands for "beta"! I feel like an idiot. I had no idea it was a beta BIOS...

@Bawdyknocker - I kept PBO disabled in order to test. I forgot to turn it back on

So does a, b,c and D. I haven't seen one with a E yet. But they are all beta.

Well if bios change doesn't fix it, I'd say remove all but your boot nvme drive and try the boot nvme in different slots. It was a problem for me and the guy in the link I posted.
