hi ive bought an rx590* off of aliexpress due to how high gpu prices are in my country, the gpu listing claimed it was an rx 590 but on gpu-z it showed up as an rx 590 gme subvendor showed up as amd/ati, the base clock speeds were too low so i suspected it had a mining vbios which it indeed did the tdp was stuck at 120w, and the vbios file had weikeng in the name(they make mining vbioses from what i understand) ive tried dozens of vbioses (had to switch their ssid to avoid the error on atiflash and use the -fp command to force ignore the p/n mismatch) almost broke the gpu two times so far,pc would just black screen as soon as if it boots with the gpu plugged into power,by some miracle if u plug it after bios screen and before windows starts loading it shows up on device manager so i was able to flash it back to normal-ish.so far the only vbios that really worked is this one https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/249580/249580 but its also a mining vbios im pretty sure as the tdp is also capped at 120 with pretty low clock speeds, ive tried modding it a bit and flashed my gpu again this time the gpu boots js normal but when i run benchmarks the clock speeds are around 1050 with stutters, this vbios is not even meant for my gpu as it should be a rx580 normal and not a 2048sp variant however ive had no luck with any of the normal vbioses(get black screens after abt 10-15s of booting unless i boot into safe mode)
sorry for the long rant id appreciate any help to find the real vbios for this gpu, thank you in advance.

Based on the current information, you have Eplida EDW4032BABG which is normally used on 4GB cards (one side).
In your case you have memory on both sides. Otherwise it is not possible to reach 8GB with Eplida.
There are no RX590 with 8GB Eplida memory.

Following bioses will likely work the best for you based on the information I currently have.

hi and thanks for replying, ive already tried the second vbios that u suggested and ive had stutters when using it,im gonna try the other one, however shouldnt the chip on my gpu be a regular rx580 chip with 2304 shaders?
both of these vbioses are meant for 2048sp

There is no bios with 8GB Eplida memory support for RX580/RX590. Its either those RX570/RX580 2048SP bioses or requesting a refund at Aliexpress.

seems like ill have to go with the latter, also ive just reflashed the gpu with the same vbios that broke it the first time(i know im dumb...) the unplug and replug method that i did previously took me 3h to somehow work: sometimes it detect the gpu sometimes it wouldn't,and on most of those atiflash wouldnt work and it wd just show adapter not found error message.
been retrying it for a while now and same thing.
im thinking of getting one those usb3.0 risers and plugging the gpu to the pc that way.any idea if that would work ?

its a dell optiplex 390
cpu is i7 2600
yes it has an igpu but the issue is system black screens when the gpu is plugged to power,as soon as gpu is unplugged system works like normal but gpu is not detected,if i replug gpu fast enough it shows up in device manager but with a yellow triangle/atiflash error

update:ive managed to reflash it by turning on the pc->unplugging gpu->replugging after keyboard lights up->uninstalling amd drivers(they cause pc to freeze due to amd crash)->flashing the card with atiflah.
thank u @VuurVOS for the help just one more question do u think this can be faked

well i know it is an aliexpress gpu however id find it really odd that theyd fake the chip number especially now after i flashed the gpu with the rx 580 2048sp vbios, ive tried several of them so far and none of them give me as good of a performance as the orignal vbios did(didnt save a copy of it) the clock speeds stay around 1050 which is really low even for the rx 580 2048sp, i tried flashing it with a normal rx 580's vbios but the amd adrenaline app would give me an error, but on gpu-z it would show 2304 shaders, the sensors however are all over the place, do u think they might have soldered elpida memories onto a normal rx580?

Modified bioses have an invalid signature which prevents driver installation.

Can you make a picture of the whole PCB? Both sides please.

@VuurVOS i hope this can help.
@eidairaman1 despite the chip having the rx 580 id code engraved on it (215-0910038)?
ive had issues with the rx 580 2048sp vbioses, the clock speed isnt stable and usually ends up dropping to 900-1050,ive been getting scores around 660 on 3d mark steel nomad when i was getting scores of about 880-940 preflash, the original vbios was made by weikeng, sadly i didnt save it before flashing the gpu the first time, ive been unable to find it anywhere ever since

Your card has 6-pin PCI-e power. Your card is 100% not a real RX580 or RX590 (GME) due the lack of power delivery.

A real RX580/RX590 must have a 8-pin PCI-e power or even 8-pin+6-pin PCI-e power if it is a decent one!

RX580 2048SP should have 8-pin PCI-e power.

A RX570 has 6-pin PCI-e power.

If you are still able to request a refund for the card, do a refund. The card you bought doesn't meet the power requirements to even be a real RX580 (2304SP) or a RX590 (GME) card and doesn't have a proper heatsink for cooling.

I found this thread because I have a similar card to you and had the same question of whether it was possible to flash a more "authentic" BIOS to it. The fan curve is rubbish - no ZeroRPM, minimum speed is already quite high and noticeably loud, but it does vary to "slightly more annoying" if under prolonged load - and the adjustment permitted in Adrenaline/Afterburner is pitiful, so I had hoped I could reflash it to be at least a little less bad.

Interestingly, Maxsun/Mougol/Soyo do also sell what looks like almost the same card (same number of shaders, same set of clock speeds and power/temperature limits) but with Samsung memory but it reports more honestly as an RX 590 GME. Interestingly though it still has only the one 6pin power connector, so I imagine it's just a less scammy variant of your board design. This is the BIOS that was on my card: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/275356/275356

(Although, I notice in your initial post your card did report in GPU-Z as a 590GME, but in your most recent GPU-Z screenshot it reports just as a 590 - are you sure your card is definitely back on its original BIOS?)

I don't really have a conclusion, but I have actually contacted the Mougol Store on AliExpress, not because I want a refund (other than the fans and the unusual power limit, it works fine for what it cost), but because I want to know whether they suggest anything in regards to the fans.

if u can figure out a way to sign the vbios after modding it u can definitely fix the issue with the loud fans by just settings the minimum fan % to whatever suits u, and abt the gpu reporting to be a rx590 thats just because i installed a custom version of adrenaline 25.3.1 drivers that works for polaris cards rather than the 24.9.1, for some reason after installing it ur gpu will report as a rx 580x if u have a rx 580 2048sp,and in my case rx590 instead of rx590 gme, id also like to point out that the number on the die found on my gpu doesnt correspond to the one found on a regular rx590 gme one, 215-0910038,215-0910066 respectively, so i wouldn't really call that honest lol. also considering u have samsung vram u might be able to flash ur gpu using a regular rx580 vbios as opposed to me since i have the bad quality elpida ones.

Hmm, actually I did already attempt to open the VBIOS in "red bios editor" without any success - I just get an error about it not being supported.

I had a look through the other VBIOSes on techpowerup (both for RX590GME and "real" RX580) but (probably because my card, like yours, just uses a single 6pin) even the ones that matched the memory didn't seem to have appropriate power or temperature limits. It's possible I overlooked something, though, so if anyone can help me narrow it down to some plausible candidates I can (begrudgingly, as if a reflash is unlikely I'd rather preserve what pretence of a warranty I have) strip the card down to verify the PCB. Maybe I should instead be looking at RX480 VBIOSes?

EDIT: Just a thought, but is it possible for GPU-Z to misreport the number of shaders? Does it pull that number from the card itself, or does it infer it by trusting some other ID provided by the card? Since the card uses just a 6pin I can't help shake the suspicion that in reality a RX470/570 VBIOS would be the safest bet.

Oh also, assuming (optimistically) a working reflash can be done, and it restores zeroRPM functionality, is there any risk of that leading to thermal damage on things like VRMs or inductors? That is to say, is there a chance that Maxsun/Mougol/Soyo set the fan speeds always-on not as an oversight but intentionally?

did u try using pbe(polaris bios editor) if not here's a link to it https://github.com/IndeedMiners/PolarisBiosEditor/releases, worked just fine for me, u will have to patch the vbios afterwards tho since it's not gonna be signed using atipatcherhttps://sourceforge.net/projects/amd-ati-pixel-clock-patcher/

is there a way to directly patch the vbios?
I am not aware of a tool which repairs a bios signature of an AMD vbios after editing.

The problem is, you have a frankenstein card. Its very uncommon to have memory on both sides of a Polaris card.

I can provide you another D00034 bios but you can only use half of the memory since Samsung K4G41325FE and Elpida EDW4032BABG are only used on 4GB cards.

that wouldn't be very ideal, isn't the best course of action then just to use atipatcher?

Everytime you do a install of your graphics card driver, you need to patch the driver.
