Because they're dropping support for B450 and X470 earlier than people anticipated? Hmmm...

Not only earlier than ''peoples anticipated'' but earlier than what their marketing has been voluntarily misleading peoples to believe !

Being able to swap CPUs without having to invest into new mobos was a BIG selling argument for AMD , if i have to switch mobos every one or two CPU gens then i might aswell go for Intel , and on top of that as we can see Intel mobos get better treatment so yeah ........

I dunno what you're referring to, but staying on the same socket doesn't say much.

It didn't when Intel bumped their Pentium 4 FSB to 800 MHz back in 2003 while staying on the same socket, and it still doesn't. (Yeah that was just one example, and I don't care about workarounds here..)

On the other hand, maybe we haven't heard the last word about this.

Start what ? AMD marketing voluntarily misleading peoples ? Refer to the video below ( starting at 7:38 ) !

I call it as i see it , AMD screwed up many of their buyers with this so it needs to be called out !

Then you need to get out of your denial bubble and face the truth , go at 7:38 if you want to skip intro .

I clearly said that I don't know what you're referring to, and still you have to insult me for that. Get real, and don't take it out on me if you're frustrated. :banghead:

That's what you said : I dunno what you're referring to, but staying on the same socket doesn't say much.

To which i replied by : Get out of your denial bubble .

So please go play the victims elsewhere , i didn't insult you , if you feel so then im afraid the frustration is on your side !

Take care .

You are obviously frustrated about the upgrade limitations of your board.

However, I can't deny something that I didn't know in the first place, so you're all wrong here.

You're the victim here, I have no AM4 board. ;)

This sounds like frustration to me:

This is not appropriate behavior on TechPowerUp.

Lets see them overclock that.

9900K is already very difficult to take beyond stock speeds on ITX boards. And Z390 ITX boards are well built. BZ did some work with a 9900K on ASRock's Z390 entry, the Phantom Gaming ITX, and not even the heatpipe running between the VRM and PCH heatsink could keep the heat off of the VRM heatsink. If it needed substantial active cooling for the VRM in the form of a small fan, imagine the what the 10900K would be like. o_O The 10900K looks like it's straight up impossible to cool on air, so goodbye extra airflow over the VRMs.

And that board actually had a well-finned heatsink, unlike this giant shroud that has no extra surface area. And that board was tested on an open air bench - imagine the heat if actually trying to put an ITX board at home in a SFF <20L case. This one does have a small fan under the shroud, but with those tiny holes in the I/O plate and the lack of a properly finned heatsink... I bet it'd go great with a 10600K though, being a soldered 8700K and all.
