No lighting. No interiors on the buildings. Other than that 1 dude, no NPCs. Fewer vehicles. No grass. Fewer trees that look like arse. No depth of field. Less building geometry.

Modded GTA5 looks like arse in comparison here. The cars look pretty good in the GTA5 mod, but they also look out of place compared to the environment with zero lighting and PS2 quality trees.

Uh, GTA 6 still has at the very least another full year of development to go... also modding is not the same as video game programming.

There are 1.1 billion PC gamers vs 611 million console gamers. Technically speaking the PC is worth far more than any single console.

Mind you it's not like releasing on PC and console at the same time is something rare. The vast majority of AAA games are able to. This is just an example of Rockstar being Rockstar and not anything else.

As for me I'll probably forget about the game and pick it up for $10 like I did with GTA V. If the devs are going to treat my platform as low priority I'm going to do the same to their game.
But how many variations of PCs vs consoles?

Hardware variables are a lot less controllable on PC than console. Sure we can argue, just max it out and let PC customers upgrade for it! But, are they wanting to cater to the hardcore crowd that buys new every year or the more broad general segment? Granted it's mostly users with old hardware or Intel craphics but, it's still there. So then the decision would be to shoot for somewhere in between. How big is that market? Probably not as large as console.

Console guarantees them a solid market and a baseline version that can then be adjusted for the broader PC market. PC users have also been shown to be willing to wait on titles more than console. Better profits on console than PC for the start of it.

Come on, we both know that's cope.

GTA 5 was a mind numbingly effective money machine, Rockstar made literal billions in profit, they could 100% make a PC port that's polished enough on release, they specifically choose not to on purpose in order to maximize profits. That's a well known strategy that they use.
Exactly. I was already thinking that could there be one more console generation with GTA V on it.

Guys, read the thread before posting. This point has already been argued. The answer also lies in past posts.

As if it matters to Rockstar. PC users made up only 2% of GTA V sales.

Because when they launched GTA V for PC, it was already an old game and everyone else had played it on other platforms.

No GTA was simultaneus launched on consoles and PC. I dont know why were you expecting diferent
Actually the first GTA game was launched on PC first. Until GTA IV, the time difference between launches was off a few months.

Then they start the exclusive bullcrap with GTA V.

You can be sure there are millionaire deals between Sony, M$ and Rockstar to prevent the PC port being lauched closer to the console ones. Also, Rockstar learned that many (stupid) people end up buying the game twice to play the better PC version afterwards.

At least we get a more finished product after the time, with better graphics and less bugs.

There hasn't been a GTA pc release since GTA3. that hasn't been a hot mess, without at least one or two game breaking bugs. GTA IV, infinite loading screen, story missions that wouldn't clear or missions that stilled failed on successful completion. GTAV save file corruption bug got me me a couple times, quit the game because of that one.

What are you even talking about my dude , did you even watch the full video of you just went off based on that pic alone ....

Pretty much everything is more photorealistic compared to GTA6 cartoon graphics , where mat/dark skins are blinking like chrome .

Sure but what is your point ? Rockstar have had 10yrs since the release of GTA 5 , when they drop the next installment to the franchise you should expect them to do at least as good as a moded GTA5 which is far from being the case .... unless GTA6 trailer was based on some early developpment engine ( which there is no reason why they would advertise their game in that condition ) then there is nothing to writte home about GTA6 , it's disapointing to say the least . People clapping cause they see fat chicks twerking nowadays ...

This point misses the mark by a very long shot.
Modded textures and lighting running on some RTX 4090 don't always translate to realistic and definitely don't translate to immersive, not matter how much motion blur they put on it. While being 8 years into the game existing on PC, GTA V is still fundementally a 2013 game with 2013 NPCs, 2013 environment, 2013 gameplay and 2013 world building.
Anyone with any remote knowledge of world building scope who have watched the GTA VI trailer can vouch for the incredible amount of effort put into what's shown in there, at least in the context of trailer = assets.
- NPCs animation, shape, density and behavior looks extremely different
- Clothing, jewelry and hair that looks natural, seperate and properly sitting on the character and not some piece of texture
- World objects, texture variation and polygonal shapes. Just the richness of the surroundings.
- Wildlife, animals and vegetation not just looking right, but behaving right
- The fact that GTA VI is built first not to run on an i9 with a 4090, not to run on a 3090, but to run on an AMD SoC which uses roughly the compute of a Ryzen 7 3700X and an RX 6700.

To me, "pre-modded" GTA VI for current gen consoles looks damn promising as a base version.

This game have been in the making so many years, waiting a bit for pc version to be polished, is not a problem for me.

Considering how terrible GTA 4 and GTA 5 were ( storylines, characters ), no rush for me. I wish we could make our own character for the story mode, also would be nice if they would have release GTA3 part 2 and VC part 2 with Claude and Tommy, but that's just my views. I'm enjoying GTA Classics remasters.

Well, Cyberpunk 2077 needs to keep a team of Devs working on it, to make it a better GTA VI by the time it is released.
