THEN IS IT FULLY SEATED PROPERLY you may have slightly disturbed it fitting the new Card
Can you access the Bios Set up Screen or is that blank as well
Have you tried connecting a dedicated Pc Moniter instead of your beloved Boob tube box

We tried the taking the battery out thing that never worked, I've put a picture on here of the lights that are showing up on the motherboard (green/yellow) and put a link to the gigabyte website outlining what they are.
I'm at a loss now the only thing I can think off is a new motherboard

all you could tell from that pic was that a / some led's were glowing you cannot tell from that picture which ones were
which is why i asked you to refer to the manual
each led has a diagnostic purpose as outlined in the manual

Have you reset the bios/pulled the battery and tried again? (edit: you posted your bit about that after I had started writing.)

The most obvious answer is something was dislodged when changing out the cards...but I won't make assumptions.

I'm sure there are hundreds of people here that, if in person, could fix it within 5 minutes.

This remote guessing game over phone/e-mail etc (as well as depending on the person receiving advice to execute it successfully) is a large reason why the 'IT Crowd' hate helping friends/family fix their computers.

Hey Paul I would like you to answer the following question as honestly as humanly possible so that we can give you the best advice. I have been monitoring your past few threads and you seem to be catching some heat from the community. As a result your answers seem a little curt. I would like to rectify this for you so you get an honest jury and so that we can better help you. Please take note I mean no offence I just want to clear some things up.

Looking at your posts has hinted at a few things. Please answer the follinwg question again honestly and without fear.

On a scale of 1-10 how competent are you at computer repair?

Also on a scale of 1-10 how much PC knowledge do you think you have?

10 being the highest.

Posting links to show the leds isnt going to help you

you need to identify each glowing led and the colour on YOUR motherboard then reference the manual to identify what each glowing led means
WE CANNOT DO THAT FOR YOU from your photo's

This is the PCB layout. The LED's in OP's pics are simply OC'ing ones - of no relevance to this unfortunately.

They don't matter. They give an indication of over clock settings. As they are yellow/green, the system is either low or not overclocked.

The problem is we don't know the exact steps you took when you removed then installed the new card.
Since that point you've cleared the CMOS, removed memory, reinstalled new card etc.
In this case, unless you're completely competent at building PC's, it may be best to take it to a repair place.
In your shoes, I'd dismantle it and plug in only power to gfx card, HDD and sata connector, one stick of RAM and try to boot.

This would be my advice as well..

If you need help with putting things back together, this video is pretty decent:

There is a complicating factor which is the X58 mobo might not natively support a UEFI gfx card.
If this means gibberish to you, honestly, take it to a friend or a repair shop. There are too many factors not limited to: incompatibility, damaged hardware, incorrect RAM placement, loose connection. Its a minefield and without it in our hands it very difficult to advise.
Good luck with it!

I've pressed the cmoss button on the back had the battery out for half hour

Have you physically reset the CMOS jumper (appears to be bottom left of that diagram) by moving it from the current position (covering two pins) one pin over (and covering those two pins) and back? I have had this issue before when replacing cards (needing to reset the bios), and found that the buttons on many motherboards these days to be less than 100% reliable. It is important the battery is inserted in place when doing this, as obviously the computer is unplugged (hence, CMOS BATTERY). The circuit needs to be completed for at least a minute.

Pretty much this, and certainly the advice of starting over to eliminate possibilities one by one is likely the best answer...but it's always worth a shot to see if it's something simple.
