That's pretty meh, imo. Although, being cheaper is a plus.

Hard to know how meh that is till reviews 20% and a price cut won't be bad... 10% and a price cut kinda sucks so it doesn't take much to swing either way....

Keep in mind the competition is targeting the 4070ti which my guess is the 5070 comes close to for 550 vs the 800 usd it currently sits at..... Although reviews are key...

The RTX 5070 and Ti comparison charts are unfair. They should be comparing it to the SUPER successors, especially since for both they were significant performance jumps from the non-SUPERs.

Agreed. AMD could have scored a hit here, but they didn't give us anything to go by. Although, FG data is pretty much the same as nothing, too. Got to wait for reviews.

What a disappointing CES! :(

I used the SVG markup on Nvidia's website to calculate their advertised gen-on-gen uplift.

Bar graphs for 5080 and 5070 Ti have exact same sizes for these two games. And who knows if any of these bars are just an "artist's rendition of performance improvements". But Nvidia won't put real numbers in their presentation so this is the best we've got...

Just look at Farcry it's the most apples to apples. Plague tale is close enough.

Did you base that on frame generation enabled data? If so, you shouldn't have bothered, it means nothing. The games were tested at different settings on the two GPU generations.

My 4070 super was 600$ US. If a 5070 is faster, even a little bit (10%), 550$ is excellent. I'd be happy to pay that. :)

If the farcry gains hold then all good for the price.

Farcry isn't using frame gen or DLSS

Yeah, on the footnote it says: Flux.dev FP8 on 40 Series, FP4 on 50 Series.

Why NVIDIA

Fucking marketing is annoying

I for sure will keep it. Way more than I need honestly. Bought it to bench and kept this one. Had strong benchmark scores that I like. Looks nice next to a DryIce pot when I get real frisky with the cpu. And minor gaming. Jam 1080P monitor with that. 144hz oc Acer Nitro. Anyhow, would only buy 5000 series for some benchmarks and sell it quickly back into the community somewhere.

That's pretty meh, imo. Although, being cheaper is a plus.

It's probably going to be more than that I'm just being pessimistic because Nvidia showed literally one game and magically all 4 gpu's are 30% faster than what they replace how is that for segmentation lol... Guessing the 5090 would be 33% faster as well but is probably hitting CPU limits.

5070 equal to 4090?? really? how exactly.

Multi-frame generation probably, it's pretty typical of Nvidia to make misleading comparisons. They said up to 3x the base framerate so I except the actual raw performance of the 5070 to be significantly lower than a 4090. That's logical though, Nvidia isn't claiming breakthrough raster performance gains this gen, in fact the keynote just finished and they spent 0 time on raster performance.

The reduced artifacts for DLSS are nice and the AI compression is interesting but I feel like if you are adding more AI models to the graphics pipeline you pretty much offset the reduction in artifacts anyways by introducing more. The 3x frame generation isn't remotely interesting to me, it's going to carry it's own set of drawbacks and base FG itself hardly had any use to begin with.

That's pretty meh, imo. Although, being cheaper is a plus.

The 5080 is only a small price cut when you factor in the value you are getting relative to the flagship. Still 16GB of VRAM and smaller compared to the flagship.

They pulled the same crap during the Ada launch. Watch it guys, frame gen x8 is coming with the 60x series!

They do that every gen. People should not be falling for it at this point.

We shall see; Depending on ones resolution, one might run into another issue, that being, if the CPU isn't strong enough when you render games at lower resolutions and upscale them, you run into the same problem as when you benchmark older CPU's on 1080p, I doubt everyone is rocking a 9800X3D. :D
RTX Mega Geometry is supposed to be the solution to that.
A 4090 is cpu limited a lot of the time. Nvidia knew this and are making changes to make sure it’s not a large issue for the 50 series. They really do think ahead.

Yo their fanboys luv dat sh1+ and don't get me wrong I don't even dislike Nvidia version of frame generation It just should not be used until you can't tell it's on and the latency of 240 frame generated frames is comparable to 240 native frames.

By doing what? Are they building a CPU twice as fast as the 9800X3D?

It's like comparing with different graphics settings. It's false data, there are no two words about it. I'm disgusted to the core.

I don't know how you can somehow become worse at presenting performance metrics than AMD or god forbid Intel. Christ.
I still rate AMD's marketing slides for the 5900XT and 5800XT as considerably worse and more purposely misleading. This is about what I've come to expect from Nvidia, best case scenario's but everything you need to be 'warned' about in the footnotes. This is as oppose to misleadingly showing CPU performance in a GPU limited scenario which was megalulz levels of gargantuan stupidity, which disgusted me to my core.

Software Linux gaming master race
I still rate AMD's marketing slides for the 5900XT and 5800XT as considerably worse and more purposely misleading. This is about what I've come to expect from Nvidia, best case scenario's but everything you need to be 'warned' about in the footnotes. This is as oppose to misleadingly showing CPU performance in a GPU limited scenario which was megalulz levels of gargantuan stupidity.
Yeah, that one was stupid as heck. But this one is downright malicious.

Man, Nvidia announces their third generation AI based image reconstruction, while AMD hasn’t gotten their first generation out of the door yet.

It‘s obvious why AMD pre-announced AI upscaling, they knew what Nvidia had up their sleeve and had to have some kind of response.

Nvidia just continues to pull further ahead. In the meantime AMD can’t even bring phone level RT to their desktop GPUs.

Why do you have to bring up AMD here?
