"What if" is a waste of time. Spend time on "What is.""
"What is" is a weird situation of incomplete lineups of current products from both manufacturers, with both still selling discounted old inefficient cards, which not only may dry up in any moment, which makes recommending them a statement which can turn false in a matter of hours, days or weeks, but these discounts also screw up acceptance of the new products.

So somebody not wanting old stuff should concentrate only on the few new cards already available.

And those who do not mind buying older inefficient cards should be getting MUCH DEEPER DISCOUNTS.

This mess should end as quickly as possible.

"Only one person showed up to buy an RTX 4060 Ti at retailer Dospara Akihabara"

I am actually surprised they sold that many...

I am honestly thinking people are buying up these trash tier GPU's here.

Then again, cucking is very popular in Canada so that wouldn't surprise me.

People actually buy graphics cards from MemEx? Their prices for graphics cards have been such garbage for the past few years. The only saving grace is their price match policy.

What's the alternative? Maybe those in Ontario or BC has canada computers but not interior. So we are stuck with MemEx.

Just checked, Canada computers prices are the same, still shit

Usually CC's prices are better than MemEx. There's also Newegg and Amazon.
Edit: Best Buy also has some stuff sometimes. Usually Best Buy's selection isn't great though.

...man, I miss NCIX. lol

You can export comparison videos in AV1 file format

One of the many advantages that a new generation video card brings.

3% lower, 7% lower in 1% lows, not 10%. In one game.

Here's the closest thing you're gonna get until W1z does the tests:

-2.2% on average. I really hope W1z adds 1% lows to these tests though as that is where you'd expect these narrower bandwidths to take the biggest toll.
Seems that der8auer just tested it / 3060 TI performance + DLSS 3 , av encoding and lower power consumption at a higher price :) , im guessing that an 3060 TI / 3070 / 3070 TI (even 2nd hand) is a better option at this point for people with PCIE 3.0 considering the prices.

It is interesting how he talked about DLSS and mixed up two aspects of it - upscaling and frame generation. He talks it down as a smoothing tool, which is incorrect.

There are numerous tests available, which show that DLSS Quality upscaling looks the same, even better than a native resolution. If somebody wants to use the frame generation (the smoothing part of DLSS) and get e.g. 100 fps instead of 70, is a matter of personal taste.

This talking down and ignoring the real benefits of DLSS just to be able to trash nVidia more is unjust and wrong. There are real reasons available for that, like skimping on VRAM.

It is definitely not a good option for systems with PCIe 3.0. Not even 7600.
The 4070+ video cards come bundled with Diablo IV. Under these conditions, there is no room for the 4060Ti 16GB. Either lower the price, or add a game to the purchase.

I kept looking and I don't see 6700 XT superior to 3070 (Ti). The exception is only a few games, but... 50-60fps average, even in 1080p, God, it's not a deal. If poorly optimized games offer a small advantage to the 6700XT, it's a Greek gift. The details must be reduced and then the order changes because the graphics chip of the 6700 XT is inferior in performance to the 3070(Ti).

Well yes and no , its an 1080p GPU and DLSS isnt that great at 1080p, it can do the job in some games if you want more fps but in general native 1080p looks better than DLSS and has less graphic anomalies.

Edit: and for Frame Generation to work nice ,from what ive heard , you already need to have 60+fps in that respective game plus it adds latency, so it works better if you have lets say 100fps native and 160fps with FG than having 50fps and getting 80fps with FG. On top of this is that only some games have FG support at the moment.
Here the 4060 TI has the same price (or higher) than a 3070 new ( 450E - 480E ) but you can safely get an 3070 (ti) second hand from a gamer (not miner) with some warranty left ( 3 -6months) for 350E, i thinks this is the way to go for people with PCIE 3.0, in the review we can see that without FG the 4060 TI has same performance as 3060TI on PCIE 3.0, you just need a decent PSU as 3070 uses more power, i was just hopping for an 4060 TI with x16 lanes and 12GB/192bit at ~400E or less.

I have a 4070, which on 1440p monitor with DLSS Quality and FG pulls 40fps up to 100, and that in Hogwarts legacy, with everything on ultra including RT. The experience is very nice.

It would be good if people theorizing about DLSS tried it instead of just talking about it, not knowing what are they talking about.

Well .. 4070 on 1440p with DLSS is a different story (+ 4070 has x16 lanes , more memory and higher bus) , DLSS quality has more information at 1440p to make a good image than it has at 1080p and when you are getting under 60fps you will have higher latency, im guessing it it will be like 50 60ns instead of 20 25ns without FG, i think 4070 is perfect for 1080p:)

I'm surprised anyone would buy this turd, good news is that on Newegg barely anyone has bought this turd and only small amount of people have bought them on Amazon, considering in the past you would literally have thousands of people purchasing such a mid-range card on day one, this is good news, people are using their brains and not being suckers!

As people have said this would have been an OKAY GPU at $300 with 16GB of vram, as it is its probably the worst mid range GPU launch in the past 10 years!

I watched that vid this morning, too bad he didn't compare to a similar PCIe 4.0 system because that vid still doesn't tell you what the 3.0 performance loss is. W1zz will probably do that test after everything settles down. However you can't argue with derbauer's conclusion that right now the 3060 Ti is simply better value than the 4060 Ti in older systems.

Few people claim the 6700XT is superior in performance to the 3070 (3.5% faster) or the 3070 Ti (17.4% faster), unless the Nvidia cards run out of VRAM of course. The bigger problem is the 3070 is 35% more expensive for that tiny 3.5% fps improvement and the 3070 Ti is 58% more expensive for those modest 17.4% more frames.

Those are steep costs for small fps improvements. Cheaping out on VRAM just worsens the deal.

in 2023 anything 8GB is simply not worth the risk of getting overrun at some point and rendering into a useless stuttery mess.
Considering 4060 is 30% the big die and shouldn't see more than 2% it's probably already buffering over the PCIE more than it should hence why derB got a 10% loss.

Where the 6700 XT wins (thanks to vRAM), the framerate is horrible.
Anyway, these video cards were released 2 years ago and have no relevance now. They are cheaper, but they are old.
Nor does the generalization make sense. The better video card is the one that offers more performance in your games. However, if we generalize, in the top of the most played titles (steam, epic, etc.) we do not find titles in which vRAM is an obstacle.

Is an idea that every single card regardless of the price should be able to play every single game at the most extreme settings even reasonable?

4060Ti costs A FOURTH of the top model.

The question if 4060Ti is priced correctly is hard to answer, when there is no current competing product from AMD available.

He did show the loss in his original RTX4060Ti review where he lowered PCIe bandwidth to 4x PCIe 4.0 which should be the same as 8c PCIe 3.0. Loss is around 5-10%.

Here the prices are almost the same , 350-380E 3060 TI , 450-480 4060 TI and 3070 but an 3070/TI used with 3-6 months warranty left is 350-380E, too bad the 4060 TI is not a cut down version of 4070 with same 12GB VRAM and x16 /192bit , made more sense for the price but it would be still too expensive.
If you play at 1080p and/or you are on older board with only PCIE 3.0 a new 30 series GPU makes more sense if you dont need the AV1 encoding and you are fine with the extra power draw and even more sense (in my opinion) to get a second hand 3070/TI if you can get it from a gamer considering you are still using older hardware, on the market here you can even find 3070/TI new in box without warranty (or factory refurbished with warranty) at ~400E (had purchased parts like this before and never had a problem), on the "without warranty" products you still have the warranty papers but i dont think you can enforce it without the original bill from the store (that you are not getting) , maybe some vendors are offering international warranty without the bill from the store.

I'm on a 5700X but I mostly play ~5 year old games from my backlog, so it could be a while until I have issues with the 8gb VRAM. I also own a ps4 if I suddenly want to play tlou part 1

4070 is already a (significantly) cut down version of 4070 Ti. Nvidia also uses these chips in professional cards - cutting them down twice and selling them for cheap does not make sense at all.
