I still want this card, especially the founders one. It looks so god damn awesome !!
But Tbh, its better to have a little sound problems then buy a similiar priced amd card for half the performance and not to mention the amd's super huge power draw which could be very costly in long term and heat issue that can make my gaming room fells like sahara.

meh, I think you're not holding it right ... take free a bumper case ... or wait I have a better one ... with this new amazing technology we keep dust of your GPU blades ... for few extra bucks, we could make it spin to 5000 rpm ... to keep the case clean as well.

I dont get it. I saw all the reviewers giving it glowing reviews, so who`s telling the truth.. The buyers or reviewers?

The fan, throttling and heat issues were glossed over mostly. I will wait & see if custom cards can fix this problem, bcoz am thinking it might have something to do with new hardware feature (power/clocks/heat) nvidia have used in Pascal. I forget what's its called...

You're going to be one sad panda if you do, seeing what early adopters are telling us.

What's next, GTX 2080 FE being charged 200 bucks more
Well, why not?

That will depend on whether AMD is still around, and if yes, if it has things to offer in that tier.

If neither not, then it will depend on how many dudes are willing to vote with their pocket.

As far as I see, quite a number of people is eager to pay for it, so, why the hell not?

Dafuq where you smoking, dude?

Stop trolling. KNOWN niche product, small size, lower power. They didn't call it a FURY GAMERZ EDITIONZ and charge 100 extra. It was the same price for a smaller Fury X with less draw. Great buy? No, but it wasn't some marketing crap to make more money off low volume production (Nvidia strikes again and the dummies fell for it).

Trolling? No.

Nano was exactly marketing crap to get more money out of people. Same way Founder Edition is. And it wasn't even QC'd properly as it had bad coil whine reported across the board (google nano coil whine - plenty to find). You also say it wasn't a low production marketing gimmick??? You serious? Nano and HBM? Oh yes, of course the market was flooded with Nano (and Fury X). No, wait, it was quite limited.

I think Fury X was a great product but Nano was unnecessary. It was hyped early despite the fact Fury X was already a small product. Funnier was that many SFF cases can take standard size cards now. Nano was a niche product but it was also an unnecessary product (with bad coil whine). Nvidia GTX1080 FE is priced arrogantly but hey - fastest card can be.

It's also pretty arrogant to call someone a dummy for buying a product. Would I advise someone to buy one? No, but I wouldn't denigrate them for it. Your location states 'Police/Nanny State of America' which to me emphasises an anti-socialist free market conservative mindset. So if you hate nanny states, why you hate free market pricing?

Seriously? More than what? :D It cost the same as FuryX, let me remind you.

They probably had chips for Pro Duo, and said, hey, why not have it in a SFF "friendly" way.

Ignoring size, Nano was the fastest card in that power envelope.

nano coil whine
Nano was always air cooled... ^^ First time I hear it had any problems.

JayzTwoCents did complain over throttling. He's usually honest about problems regardless of the company behind it.

Nano, no water loop as added cost and less performance than Fury X but same price. More than what it's relative merits were. For comparison, Titan Z was an abortion of a card with pricing, don't worry, Nvidia still hold the all-out crown for that.

As for coil whine. Coil, not Pump. The exceptionally irritating high pitch whine (your come back post might say, "like your posts!") from the PCB. Many reviews commented on terrible coil whine that made any Fury X pump noise seem trivial.

If you never read about it, you may have selective bias switched up too high.

Chuckle at the predictable posts. I would see a fix coming soon enough and I imagine there are plenty without the problem.
And I'd RMA the shit out of it till it was as it should be.

Forgiven? Not a word I'd use for aberrant fan behaviour but while we're at it, did everyone with a noisy Nano or Fury X have to forgive AMD? Don't think so. Let's not dabble in double standards. I never asked for AMD to prostrate themselves so I wouldn't ask the same of Nvidia.

Its a nuisance for some that will get sorted. Simple story.
No kidding. People are acting like a fan curve screw-up is the end of the world.

It's a software glitch, this kind of thing will be fixed quickly. AMD has had the same issue before.

Nvidia re-uses reference coolers that were never good to begin with? Check.

Annoying but not game-breaking issue? Check.

Issue was caused by Nvidia being lazy and behaving like usual? Check.

Issue that will probably be sorted with the latest driver release? Check.

People making a big deal over some habits of Nvidia that have been obvious for the past 6 years? Check.

Those same people don't actually own or have a particular proprietary interest in an actual GTX 1080? Check.

This is all getting very tiring, but who am I kidding? Virtually every thread with the spotlight on a specific Nvidia or AMD product is bound to devolve into a shouting match about one or more of the companies being evil and having done this all before, all preaching to the choir.

They spent 100 pounds for something that wasn't even marketed deceptively; it was out there as a clear, obvious ripoff and people bought it. You didn't personally buy it ==> you were not negatively affected ==> move along.

Caveat emptor, not that it even applies to the people in question.

Well in principle we are in the same market right?
I did not affect us, but it could have.
To completely take yourself out of every discussion just because it does not affect you personally is not a good thing perse.

And hell you might as well complain to the article being posted, those that are on here that have this issue know about it and perhaps are talking about it on the forums.
For the rest....yeah so what? might as well ask the maker to turn the comments off for this then right?

It's all good fun, it's only natural fans of one brand want the other to fail.

We've already gone from complaints of a paper launch to complaints from owners after all.

Either way this news has already filtered out to AMD's launch in Macau:

natural?
I mean in sports maybe but in hardware?
One would think all we want is solid competition to improve performance and bring the price down.
Then we can make an educated choice one what fits us best with proper arguments....

Lets not equate "natural" with "fanboyism"

I fully agree with your sentiments... honestly i do, but history tells us GPU brands are serious business.

My post was tongue in cheek from the start exactly because the sheer hilarity that ensues from these ultimately minor issues.

literally the dude who started the thread. in the post at the top of the page.

but only short it rapidly rises to 2800 rpm and then rapidly falls down again to normal rpm... it happens by every temperature... sometimes it doesnt happen seconds or minutes... but after a time it again rapidly rises und falls again.

yes. that sounds very normal.

oh wait, no. that is the complete opposite of normal and would sound fucking annoying.

not to get off topic but the 1070 reviews are out and it looks to be just as good as Nvidia said it was. Only really beaten by its bigger brother.

Sounds more like a fan controller issue in software than a actual hardware issue. As in a driver update will likely fix this.

It's never going to be a quiet cooler, but my thought is sharp transitions like this can be easily avoided with driver tweaks.

I have done this... although it was for bitcoin mining. But I cannot lie: I have.

ROFL. I love how people complain about stuff that doesn't affect them in any way. People screaming at a screen is always funny, please keep it up folks! :lovetpu:
