NVIDIA released its latest "Game Ready" driver in wake of the latest AAA game launches. Version 364.72 WHQL comes "game ready" for Dark Souls III, Killer Instinct, Quantum Break, and Paragon. It also comes with optimizations for VR headsets such as Oculus Rift and HTC Vive; for some of the earliest big VR-ready titles, such as EVE: Valkyrie, Elite Dangerous, and Chronos.

and cue @RejZoR to report on the driver quality...:D

Just kidding! Your rants on new drivers always make me laugh.

364.51 caused a crash on my system.... for the 1st time. DLing this driver & hopefully it solves the problem. If not, I'll go back to v362 as most folks reported it to be a stable release.

Thanks for testing TPU members! :D

Why is that first screenshot some low quality halo character?

I'm wondering why they have to announce it is a "game ready driver" when they wouldn't be releasing it if they didn't think it was...... or would they. o_O

noticed that DSR have a section in the change resolution page in the control panel. other then that, so far so good with these drivers. Just annoying doing a clean installation and having to redo CRU for my 72hz o/c on my Samsung PLS monitor :P

...Why is there a screenshot of a character from Halo?

I'll wait for further reviews. I tried the previous driver twice (clean install as well) but kept getting BSOD's randomly when PC was idling. Running 362 version for now.

First time I've ever had cause for concern about upgrading NV drivers. :(

Have they fixed stupid settings page resetting to top of the list on every selected setting? I could rant about that.

Hopefully they've fixed crashing with video. Their last drivers stunk.

hmm i also get random freezes when idling. I'm not sure if the cause is BSODs because the monitor does not resume from stand by and i found only one dump file the first time it happened and no other dumps the next times.

Another annoying thing about the Nvidia driver i found out yesterday is that it stores 5.5GB worth of older drivers in
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2 and in several C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_neutral_xxxx folders. Maybe one of them is the current one but 5GB+ on a SSD is a little to much. I'll try a clean install to free up that space and suffer the horror of rearranging 130 icons.

No, they haven't.

I still don't like how long it takes before the "Manage 3D Settings" drop down boxes become active so one can actually start to modify settings. >.>

They may never "fix" it, I'm having that and I'm still on the GTA V driver...

That as well. Their software is designed by lazy idiots. Why the hell their stupid control panel parses ALL application profiles every damn time you open that shit panel? Yhey are not even needed until you go to the apps profiles tab. Parse that shit then only. That's the only reaso it takes so frigging long to become responsive!

All I know is; I have tried everything to make that problem go away, by manually removing the pre-loaded game list that starts with the control panel to compare against the games you have currently installed on your system, to simply just installing the driver without GeForce Experience etc.

Nothing helps. :*(

I'm getting a Samsung 850 Pro soon for my entire system (no HDD or SSHD anymore). If it'll still start like crap (which I'm quite sure it will) it's officially shitty.

In the meanwhile I might check out what their control panel is parsing at that point using disk monitoring tools. I'm curious how a multi-billion company can't be bothered to fix something as basic as control panel that is the very foundation to even properly utilize their hardware.

Well, from what I read online, having everything on a SSD helps with this issue, but there is still a little delay, how long, I can't say off the top of my head. All I know is, that currently with my HDD and all the games I have on it, it takes a good 3-4 minutes to become responsive.

The arbiter is in killer Instinct
The arbiter is in killer instinct, however that is not the arbiter from KI that is the Halo 3 one.

This is the arbiter in KI.

Works fine on my system, no reported errors or problems with install.

Clean installed the new driver and i still have those 5.5GB filled with older drivers. The curious thing is that the size did not increase. I'm wondering if those files are forgotten there and if i have to delete them myself. Also, the "Output dynamic range" always changes to "limited" when the display is connected via hdmi and i have to enter the control panel and set it to "full".

About that delay in the control panel. Are you referring to the delay when choosing the "Manage 3D settings" panel? With a SSD that takes 4 seconds with all games installed on a separate mechanical drive.

Can confirm, with my ssd the control panel takes 3-4 seconds then become responsive
