OUYA: A Hacker-Friendly Android Console

It needs more RAM. Seriously, 3 or 4 GB minimum to load the game files.
This isn't a desktop it doesn't need heaps. e.g Xbox 360 and PS3 have 512MB of RAM so in comparison 1GB is considered modern.

Kickstarter? Looks suspicious.

LOLOLOLOL

CYBER ALERT! This is my extreme voice. some back yard analyst that looks ok in blue is shuffling papers in the background and thinks that some of the projects you back on kickstarter are a waste of money. such as the home made scarf company ran by a 16 year old girl. kickstarter is a bad place that could mess up my hair and take all of your money if you invest it in something that doesnt make it. Such as a 84yr/o mans home and garden arts and crafts store. So take it from my serious tone of voice almost all of kickstarter is fake so fake infact that my voice acting talents are starting to fail. I implore you not to give a dime to kickstarter because my not well known face and news organization seriously reccomend against it. Watch my analys shuffle papers again.

I am more interested to see what Ouya can do for Android as a platform. The hardware may be decent now, but adding a baseline to Android, and forcing Google to do some actual fine-tuning can really do a lot for Android. My reasoning for getting an iPhone 4S was that I wanted to play games, and after 2 years of having a DroidX, I was just kind of unimpressed. It was nice to get some cheap and free games here and there, but I have no problem throwing down a few dollars on a nice game that runs smoothly, and with iOS you get that.

I would like a console to be a bit more future proof. And an extra stick of RAM is a cost effective way to do that. Look at the 5/6yr dated PS3/XBOX and imagine how the games would look today if they shipped with more RAM?

They are limited by the GPU not the RAM.

The Ouya console will be as small as a Rubik's Cube, according to the renowned designer Yves Béhar.

“Our console is quite small, around the size of a Rubik's cube, and so it will easily fit anywhere in a room, or be easy to throw in a backpack,” Béhar said.
