Keep in mind he’s on a 2-DIMM board.
My 13900K does 8200 with 2x24GB (single-rank) on my Apex Encore, but the same CPU couldn’t get past 6800 on a base model MSI Z790 board.
Ahhh, yeah, that’s an entirely different animal.
This board has been a huge PITA lol.
Returning the 8000 I got. I don’t want to deal with gear 4 vs what I’ve done with this Cl 30.
Just not worth the price of the new ram I think.
I have unlocked it for you
Thanks Free, much appreciated.
Yep! I don't think I would hit 6800-6933 with a 4-slot. But The ASUS Hero Dark is a Z790 Refresh, so maybe?
Idk man. I tried. It definitely wasn’t plug and play on XMP lol.
Started dropping frequency and when I hit 7200 I was like F this lol.
Ok Whew. That took forever but I wanted to be absolutely sure it was stable.. And it is. Bet I could do a little better but this is pretty solid I think. Updated the OP.
Main timings got down to 30-38-38-38-56. @ 1.47V
I don't have the same kit, but a similar one. I think mine is even more budget level, no RGB lol.
At any rate, this is what I run daily and have not been able to get more stable and also without REALLY heating up the DDR5. 1.35V is my current setting.
What could I tweak for slightly better performance; if anything? I have done my due diligence with ActuallyHardcoreOC as best I can
I’m relatively new to this stuff but unless I’m wrong I would try bringing down that TRAS to 66 or 76. You might get lucky and get down to 56 like I got.
Trefi to 66000 or higher. What’s your temps under load?
@Dr. Dro told me this:
DDR5 RAM temp should be at max 60-65C for stability at tREFI 65536, 131072 will need 45-50 and 262144 will need sub 40C load temps for stability. Running sticks regularly on air means you should stick to tREFI 65536 and lower. Hot RAM = leaky RAM = unstable RAM
