I have tried path of exile so many times over the years, only 15-20 mins at a time, before I just felt overwhelmed by the complexity of it all. Also, I died a lot. So partly I quit because I just suck at gaming. I really enjoy Grim Dawn, Torchlight I and II though. I enjoyed the campaign of Diablo 3 as well for it's powerful use of good artwork, atmosphere, and up tempo combat. PoE for some reason just feels off to me for some reason.

Oh, I sunk years into it (started in beta, quit for good around the time the Elder was introduced - never reached any of the higher level bosses). It's complex (brutal even), but that's part of the charm: choices matter. Unlike many other RPGs where you dominate by default once you reach max level.
But I play by myself and since I couldn't trade (won't be bothered to keep tabs on prices, plus it really kills the fun for me), only took me so far.

About pay2win, you can always use mules (I know, the number of chars isn't unlimited either). But at $11/16.5 per bundle, buying storage space is the least courtesy you can show the developers of a game you're enjoying enough to want to press on.
No, I don't think every decision GGG makes is good (then again, I don't see the game from the PoV of a more serious player), but looking at the alternatives, they still have by far the most consumer friendly business model, imho.

I agree with you. As far as I know, they have the best trading model

I don't know. During my stay there, the #1 requested feature was a marketplace. You needed to keep tabs on a number of forums back then to get the price of things. And then go in the game and trade.
I reckon things have changed since.

you can use build in add-on for market place in their web site but it is behind paywall as you need premium tabs for it (at least one).
for ps4 version of the game they showed up something like auction where you put items in mailbox and set asked price and when someone buys your item you go to be box to pick up your currency. it had in game search function and if iirc you could put about 10 items in a time for sale (area where you place items was made as inventory space so number of items depended on their size). it was made as part of controller only ui for ps4.
duno if it made it in pc version of the game. i've quit playing it about 1 year ago and i dont have plans to go back.
