Fun game indeed, this is what DayZ should have been. The intense feeling all throughout, enemies could appear anytime, finding loot, trying to survive. without the shortcomings of DayZ(buggy gameplay, lag, hackers, boring running simulator, hard to find loot, hard to identify friends) The game runs smooth, few bugs despite early access, fun with friends, and can be played in short sessions while still having fun

When DayZ or even H1Z1 was released no single code on this game has been written yet.. and yet few years in, they made a game that was already better than DayZ.

I hope the make a zombie mode, to truly kill the DayZ/H1Z1 playerbase.

This is battle royal. Which is what DayZ and H1Z1 ended up being. Everyone just wanted PvP.

I've always wanted to write an article on why I think the original DayZ still did everything the best - but that's neither here nor there, because DayZ wasn't a KOTH game by design and didn't get big because of that. H1Z1 only fed off the failed beta and then tried to get into the KOTH space, and sucked at it (IMO, only played once but watched videos). These guys seem to have done it right from the jump. The only other specific KOTH game that I remember coming out was "The Culling" which sucked ass. I bought it, played an hour, and refunded with a negative review. Then got flamed because off all the EA nuthuggers, and guess what? Turned out to be absolute shit. The thing is, I can't see that happening with this game at any time: which is so far a good sign.

I've watched many frankie and jackfrags videos on this game and it seems very fun. But still I'm waiting for it to be on sale before getting it.

Anybody else picking this up and playing over the weekend? Last weekend the game went in open beta; I tried it, was pretty decent for the type of game, and decided to pick it up for a few different reasons. So far it is pretty fun, but challenging. Yes, it's another EA survival type title. King of the hill mode with 100 player servers, a pretty large map. I don't know the background, but apparently was made by the guys who worked on/made H1Z1 or DayZ battle royale and finally were able to make their own game. It is a lot more polished than H1Z1 battle mode already - in the simple facts that shooting is FAR superior, there's a lot less lag, driving is better as well.

To be more specific on the background of the game. Playerunknown is the one (that is his gaming/internet alias) who came up with the battle royal game type in the Arma mods and then h1z1 king of the kill. He was never able to be a lead in the development of them, and now daybreak is riding the wave of success from his idea with king of the kill. Now playerunknown has gotten together with a small scale dev studio and leading the development with this one.

Already within like 2 months its better and more polished than kotk in the last 3 years. Playerunknown seems very committed and determined to make PUBG the game that all the others should have been. The weekly and monthly updates are sweet.

For Dayz, at the end of the day people only cared about PvP so in a sence it basically was a koth game.

Sacriel is funny as hell. I remember when he told summit and the rest of summits chat that the reason he knows so much about DayZ or games in general is because he is Autistic. "Never seen a pair of tits, but know everything there is to know about a game"

I don't understand all of the bashing, saying this is just another copycat... PlayerUnknown was the original. He built a mod in Arma 2 and Arma 3. H1Z1 licensed it from him but didn't do it justice. Then several other copycats/variations came out. Now PlayerUnknown is making this, a true standalone. So yea, this guy isn't a copycat. He's the one who started the trend.

Exactly. Seems some people even think stuff from arma was ported over to it. Which they did not since its not affiliated whatsoever with ARMA or the studio who makes the ARMA games. They would be in trouble if they took assets from ARMA and put it into this game.

I have the worst habit of driving a car to the next circle, going to the nearest kill hoping out and then a dude comes out from behind a true and one taps me with a shotgun.

Just got 2nd in a solo. Wasn't expecting the guy to straight running from the tree he was at and then stop and somehow 2 tap me in the dome.

Also i play with everything on low and i get around 20fps. aiming is kinda hard, and if something happens around me i drop to around 10 fps so aiming is impossible. Still, i apply a very powerful technique. Run ,run & run, from bush to bush. This sometimes gets me in top 10.

Also if you wanna play with me in team. I have mic we can talk. Maybe it will be fun.

Red area is the blast zone. Mines go off every second for about 15 seconds. Best to not be in that area but if you are be indoors.

I was indoors. It felt like a bomb exploded through the roof. I was just camping there, w8 for the blast area to finish.

last night struggling to find the tunnels. I saw that many good items are there

its a artillery attack. so yea even in doors it can land on the roof or side of the house and bust windows. As for your low FPS, I would bet your phenom II cpu is maxed out while playing. This game is not optimized yet and uses a shit load of CPU and GPU. Your CPU is the weakest link.

Very true. Still w8 to see what Intel will bring as a response to Ryzen. But something tells me it will be a very expensive cpu line-up. Probably will go with Ryzen after all. between real life problems and all these changes in cpu world(market) i hesitated to buy a new computer.

I've got this one too. I personally think $30USD is a bit much but if the content keeps coming then sure, I have no problems.

I generally do Duos with a friend and find it quite entertaining. I have to say that the best experience in a duo is when you each find a vehicle and use them to run over people - very fun XD. Also I've noticed that the military base at the south of the map is nearly always a high traffic area so I'd steer clear of that if you prefer a stealthy game.

There should be a big update coming this week. Idk if itll be monthly update 2 or weekly update 7 though.
