QX9650 if I can get one for under $700 or a Q6700 if they are on sale. If not a Q6600 will suffice just fine.

Yes.. Yes I DO! It's just affording one really. I have to be able to sell off some stuff this week in order to get one. I may wait to get a big money processor when Intel's new socket comes out. Besides, I'm growing more confident with my OCing and I think I can do really good (or really bad) things with one of those Q6700's. Besides an unlocked multiplier will make me lazy.

Yeah, but the Q6700 still doesn't guaranty 4GHz or better. It's almost a given with the QX tho. Mine does 4GHz on less than 1.4V.

I just finished a 3Dmark run at 877 core, and i can't go any higher because i can't get anything to overclock my second card except CCC! AMD GPU Clock tool used to work, but now it just freezes when i hit "set clock"

no, I mean why it says crossfire is disabled! Its really driving me nuts, it wont let me use riva to OC my cards, I have to use CCC and that is limited to 877

It's obvious to me that it's a Vista problem. When I use Rivatuner, first I OC #1 card, and it stays locked in at that setting. Then I OC #2 card which shows 300mhz for the core, but I ramp up the settings to 900/1300. For the #2 card I have to hit test, it tests it then drops back down to 300mhz. While running 3d06 for a test I went into rivatuner to make sure and they were both running at (approx) 900/1300. You may want to create a separate partition on your system drive and use XP for benching. You will get better scores anyway, and with the water cooling, I probablly won't be able to compete when I get my quad. Though if we get any more really cool days here mabye...

Im actually putting in a 160GB sata HD I have to run a XP partition right now!
That is the same problem I was having with Rivatuner when i was on XP also! So I guess it was sticking. Well Im get that installed ASAP. I am gonna modding my cards this week, so i need to make sure that I can OC them as high as I want!!

If Rivatuner 8 isn't working, perhaps try 6. Don't use 7, I guess it's bad.

Since it uses 4 12v rails, you may be overloading one of them... Not sure really.

i thought the corsair was a single rail? If not that could be the prob! I went to a PC power cooling, couldnt be happier
