Heres mine redone with better and all Heatsinks attached! Card runs about 60c with AC/Windows fan off, 50c or less on

Corsair H55? Does the screw placement fit natively, or you drilled it through?

I googled through... looks kind of unstable... I am planning to put on some Seidon 120M... at least the screws fit on natively and has a firm grip.

I use 2 XFX 290x GPUs they have elpida memory chips but I did get them before the price increase. :) I run both at 1050/1350 gaming and bench them up to 1100/1450.

I also mine with them most of the time, so they are solid cards and XFX had a good warranty for US based peeps.

What you overclocking them with ?, as though CCC is just a bad idea lol.

@fullinfusion you seem to have clocked your gpu's 50 mhz higher than me...:cry:
If i put the same clocks it artifacts like mad in unigine heaven for some reason, so you better check it there as well
oh well, nice scores btw! :respect::rockout:

Nice, those beasts look awesome! It says you've got them clocked @1150/1350 so what voltage are you using for that?

Cant tell ya all my secrets bro!

Thank you and I dumped the bios off the gaming thread, it's not working as it should but I think it's for the X cards as heat was an issue.

I flashed back to the origional bios and temps went down so I'll wait and see what I hear from MSI on exactly what's what with it.

It just wouldn't overclock at all on that bios.

And I was running all benches last night and tonight I'm doing the same but running it harder. Never seen a single artifact last night on any bench.

Im very happy with this these MSI Gaming cards... Just tickled pink as they say lol

So whats stopping you?

@gdallsk

I hope your using Heaven 4.0 and NOT 3.0?

3.0 has big issues with these cards and even at stock clocks my fans ramp straight through the roof. On 4.0 version its no problem at all ;)

I know you didn't ask me, but I'll answer anyway :p

I'm too broke to drop cash on a 2nd card, despite how much I'd like one

I didn't need to ask, as you told me you'd like to get one but the time isn't right.

I don't blame you, I spent $678 yesterday on my 2nd gpu... could I afford it? yes/no but did I need it, NO!
I have bills to pay but its all good we do what we do when we can.
Look at you, you had a 290 months before I did and I was like Grrrrrr!!! lol but yeah 2 cards are the way to go for sure!

These MSI Gaming cards are just sick how well they perform!

I thought for the longest time, I have 2 7970's and im not far off the 290X when OC'd to the balls.
But you heard my video and how loud they were, just to get close to there score,, Fu*k that!!!

And a plus,,,, MORE POWERRRR!!

When you get your phone back, you need to post a video of your cfx setup now. That 7970 cfx vid was classic lol and a video of your 290 cfx would be great to share with everyone.

Since you mention me getting one months ago, i should have grabbed 2 right then, and I would have had I know about the price hike (not to resell, just to keep). Whatevs, it looks like prices are settling now. I've seen several used R9 cards for sale lately and the prices are getting down where I want to be, and that bodes well for my pc's future ;)

CPU clock was set to 4.8GHz

This is Better yet with less clocks. It's the voltage that's making the difference.

Come back? This isn't a fraternity. There really is no need for such hostility or language, it was a simple mistake, and I'm sure we can be mature people and just get over it and move on. No need to begin some kind of diatribe for self importance, or make any accusations about stereotypes related to time zones either. Let's just leave it be.

This just in, used Trixx this time, upped the voltage a tad bit - +150, and can finish heaven without any artifacting on 1150 core and 1400 memory, wahey!

EDIT: nevermind, did it the second time, crashed cause the memory clock was too high...

EDIT #2: 1350 on memory is helluva stable though

good for you man! drop the core down to say 1110 and try memory at 1400. i find these cards hafe a tipping point. i can run 1200/1400 and if i say up the memory it crashes, but lower one and you can raise the other. its finding a ballance between the 2 . ive sat at 1500 memory at 1000 core but if i raise the core up a tad its a crash every single time at any given volt. hope this helps.
