Better safe than sorry. I never let my hotspot go beyond 85C. And recommend no one to do so.
It's not possible on a reference 6750 XT, I guarantee that. Well, I guess I could underclock below 2 GHz, and undervolt to whatever voltage that 2 GHz needs, and ramp up the fans to 100%, but then what's the point in having a 6750 XT at all? I could have bought an overbuilt brick of a 6600 XT for this money, like an Asus Strix or something.

Heck, even my Asus TUF 6500 XT touches 90 °C hotspot sporadically during a 3DMark stress test, and the cooler on that thing is seriously overkill (60 °C edge temp with almost complete silence).

The only control measure I have against high temps is a 60 FPS limit, so the card runs cool with older games at least.

My ASUS DUAL RX 6700 XT don't seem to have a problem with heat, though I do hear the fans roar when gaming. Shows me its in perfect working condition while keeping the temps at bay.

If Windows starts crashing, (not shutting down) it's definitely too hot, if crashing due to temps. Also, they appear to lose reliability when anywhere near 100C for long periods.

No crashes, no instability here. Just a high hotspot temp. :)

Still better than my 105.

I was worried about it until I ran HW64 and saw that it hits that point for a few microseconds.

To be honest, it's more of the fact that we're not used to seeing hotspot temps than anything. I mean, this reading didn't even exist before RDNA. If we didn't see it now, we wouldn't be bothered by 75-80 °C edge temps so much.

Dumb question. Can't you put say a 80mm fan mount it on top of the card towards the pcie slot. Put in say 1/4" spacers so the fan is raised and have the fan blow towards the card. That will help cool both the top side of the gpu and create air flow that in theory help cool the hot spot. Also that will help like looking at my setup with cooling the nvme slot as well.

I'm not sure. I have a m-ATX case, so space is limited. I could try, I guess. It's just that even with an open case, the card lowers its fan speed, and does basically everything to still reach 105 °C hotspot. A custom fan curve helps shave a couple degrees off, but that's it. With this in mind, I don't think more fans (even directed at the GPU) would help much.

Oh ok really small case. Yeah with these bigger gpu's not really any room for anything. Hell I had to get a bigger case because my old case was 3mm to short.

OT but I realized we have practically the same system, down to the motherboard lmao

Missing the 6750XT though :p

I have a thing for small PCs. The only reason I go for m-ATX in my main PC is because m-ITX is very hit-and-miss in serviceability. :ohwell:

Oh yeah that is funny as hell. Yeah even some of the parts are similar but different brand names or pretty darn close.

I get it. I've seen your build its really nice very compact. You really squeezed a lot in a small place. It just sucks now because GPU's are getting bigger and don't do well in small places without mods.

Cards are getting bigger, but luckily, my performance requirements aren't. While I needed (and could afford) a top-end card 10 years ago, even the higher-mid range 6750 XT is overkill for my needs nowadays. At this rate, I'll be proudly rocking x50 series cards in my main PC and still playing at 60+ FPS within the next 10 years. :rockout:

Can relate. I kept my RX 480 since 2017 until it died in January and honestly I'd have kept it for longer if it hadn't died.

Can totally relate as well. Just before I got my 6750XT I had a XFX RX560 OC 4G got that in 2018. Prior to that had a Sapphire HD3650 512mb since 2007. So huge leaps in cards and in size. They both still work. Problem with the Sapphire it wont decode video properly past windows 7.

Consoles have always been a lot worse in performance than contemporary PC parts. That's why they're cheaper. The tweaks game devs employ on console versions are easily done on the PC as well by using medium-high graphics. It's only that most people are lazy and would rather just click on the game on their PS5 than go into the options menu on the PC. Consoles aren't faster. They never have been and never will be.

I need to do some research just for curiousity, I may get a Xbox Series S as I have a 1080p TV and I don't have plans yet for upgrading it. What I've read is that it's an ok 1080p console?

Don't know. I've never cared about consoles and probably never will. I have a PS2 to play some old Mortal Kombat games and watch DVDs in the bedroom, but that's it. :ohwell:

Consoles have always been a lot worse in performance than contemporary PC parts. That's why they're cheaper. The tweaks game devs employ on console versions are easily done on the PC as well by using medium-high graphics. It's only that most people are lazy and would rather just click on the game on their PS5 than go into the options menu on the PC. Consoles aren't faster. They never have been and never will be.
I mean I did upgrade my xbox one to an xbox one x when it hit $300 bundle. But instead of buying a series x. I built my current pc way happier with the choice.

DAMN! Didn't even realize that 6700 XT wipes the floor with PS5!

Now that I heard from buddies, I may have been trapped by a clickbait by this video. My bad!

Hi fellows! I´m here to present the little bastard of the family. To all intents and purposes it is a Powercolor RX6700 (non xt) Fighter, but it is not, it is a BC-2235, a mining OEM card, no box, no nothing, fashed with the Fighter bios. And I only paid for it 200 U$S. Best deal ever. I´m happy with it, I even beat the 3dmark top score for my CPU & GPU combo. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/37504393
I can get more points but since it has the worst cooling solution among the 6700s i didn´t want to go over 100ºC in junction temp fiddling with MPT. I just wanted to see if it was on par with their non bastard siblings and it does! Cheers!

That's a really awesome deal you got there! I hope the card serves you well. Cheers! :toast:

P.S.: It's a shame you're not UK-based. I might have considered buying that tiny 1060 off of you to make a glorious part of my collection. Oh well. :ohwell:
