And I would. But not now, not here.

This tech is too raw to be good. Best case scenario we get massive RT for the sake of FPS we can easily cope with the loss of them some time in late 2030s.

And for now, RT is just a nobody's jewel.

Usually no, but here the RT performance hit brings you from 75-80 to 60fps, so I wouldn't mind having it on, if I had the memory for it.

RE4 needs 16GB VRAM if you want to run the game with max settings + RT at 1440p.
My 6700XT maintains a 60fps lock easily, but eventually it just crashes to desktop...

The demo ran high-ish 4K with 60fps though I had FSR on. Currently downloading the full game from Steam so I'll see does that run as well too.

I've had the 2.8ghz clocks for over an year now. It's completely stable, only one game I play crashes occasionally and that turned out to be cause it doesn't like SAM/ReBAR being on.

Don't know what the error code means however, but IMX, a Direct3D error pop-up for me, was always unstable GPU core OC. It usually will say that it failed to initialize Direct3D, even when it was initialized already. Both 3D Mark 2001 SE with GeForce 4 Ti 4200, IIRC and GTA V with Radeon RX 5600 XT.

99~105C hotspot is hot, but fine. 105 is definitely on the hotter side tho. I'd say 99C isn't too bad on the smol card Kissamies got.

Nothing does anything. With an open case, or an undervolt, the card spins its fans slower so that it still reaches 105 regardless. Even with a custom fan profile, I can only shave off 5-ish degrees. It's a reference 6750 XT, though.

Applying a better thermal interface seems unchecked for me. Liquid metal (if you're of cojones grandes) or top-tier thermal paste (if you're of mucho dineiro). That's it.

"Fine" becomes hot cca 85C. Silicon won't like working at temps like these and we're getting less and less reason for upgrade since sys reqs grow slower and so do GPU speeds.

My XP tells CPU silicon layout is different from GPU one. Whilst CPUs can behave under everlasting 90s pretty well, the GPUs tend to go self-destruction as it goes high 80s.

You want your card to live as forever as it's possible.

Not gonna change just the paste as the card has a warranty sticker. If I'm going to remove the cooler, might as well get a beefier one to replace it.

And AFAIK those high hotspot temps are within specs. It's just the cooler noise which can be heard even over headphones (I have my PC on my desk) if a game has a quieter moment and not just guns blazing and explosions everywhere.

edit: And I doubt that the TIM has gone bad as the card isn't that old.

All I did was fan the back side of the card 6700 xt, near the power delivery, seems to help that hot spot temp a little bit.

as long as the delta isn't 30C+ or something it should be fine at or below ~100C because the hotspot is a single small spot on the die that happens to be the hottest
sure, if your edge temp is 80C+ you have an issue

Better safe than sorry. I never let my hotspot go beyond 85C. And recommend no one to do so.

I doubt that the TIM has gone bad as the card isn't that old.

It's bad from the very start. Not the question of aging.

Not sure but that can be classified as fraud if it's tampered and trying to cover it up. Though I'm not sure that are those "warranty void if broken/removed" legal in EU if the user doesn't break the product him/herself.

It's a stress test, high temp seems normal after all.
I would be worried if it was the same temps in "normal" gaming
Did you check how hot is the temp during your gaming session ?
