Radeon RX 6700, 6700 XT & 6750 XT users club

Perfectly normal as I have the same card and the cooler is horrible. That's why I swapped to a Morpheus II (had to modify it slightly to fit).

Oh I'm not doing that again! I have no complaints about the temps on my 6700 XT Fighter, the cooler does fine. It's the silicon that's sub-par. If good silicon was being held back by a crapfest cooler like my golden sample 1080 then it'd be worth it to get another Morpheus II, but not for this one. It's OK though as I have enough GPUs from both companies that I was due for a potato which still gets the most FPS/$ of any new card I've bought.

My card screamed like a Delta fan from the early 2000s when under heavy gaming even when undervolted. Mine might be even a defective cooler if yours is okay :confused:

But at least the contact was ok and the original TIM wasn't dried up or anything when I removed it from my card. Weird.
 
It depends on what you're playing. I have a potato sample Fighter 6700XT and it's deltas hang in the 20C range at worst but I haven't played any very high demand games like CP2077 on it recently as it's my swap GPU (still getting tested in a range of builds).
No mans sky and genshin impact 1080 p cranked all the way up around 60% load vulkan or dx11

Interesting that do I get more performance out from my 6700 XT as I'm getting a 5800X on monday. Need to do some benchmarking with my 3600 before upgrading.

I guess I just need to use some curve optimizer? Cooled by custom loop so I guess its temps will be under control. I'll be getting the CPU in about 5½ hours when the post office opens :)

Well, you'll need to start by checking the stats in games, such as using CapFrameX. Then see what Ryzen Master reports for the best core.

Yeah, it's a great 1080p GPU and also a good 1440p option. Not ideal anymore but with graphics settings below ultra, it still kicks ass.
 
Long time Nvidia user trying out AMD for the first time, Gigabyte 6750XT Gaming OC user checking in. Undervolt is a new experience for me (adjust slider as VF curve instead of setting target voltage at the max frequency) as I used MSI Afterburner to UV in my 3060Ti.

Below are my undervolt results. Anything under 1155 seems unstable when gaming in long time, also underclocked it to match the frequency as the new 6750XT GRE (2581MHz) .

Yeah, it's a great 1080p GPU and also a good 1440p option. Not ideal anymore but with graphics settings below ultra, it still kicks ass.
For me, it shines when the VRAM load is more than 8GB than the Nvidia 3060ti, 3070ti, or 4060ti. Gaming on 1440P in CS2 sometimes uses up more than 8GB of VRAM.

I noticed the funny thing: the higher you push with your overclocking the more you can undervolt it.

With 2580ish MHz, I'd need 1170 mV as the base voltage. The curve, however, is very much far from ideal and it seems to me my GPU can actually be clocked much higher but hard restrictions in BIOS ain't letting me achieve more impressive results. My cooling solution is modded and it's extremely cold in my room (average Westerner would pack themself in woolen trousers, sweater and thicc socks and still be uncomfortable about 40ish degrees (~+12 Celsius) here) so thermals are excellent. And longevity doesn't bother me much either because GPUs are illegally cheap nowadays. I can even afford a 6900 XT despite being virtually jobless. xD

Interesting. With my 6750xt I set my max frequency to a modest increase of 103% / 2728 mhz, voltage at 97% 1164 mv, and vram at stock 103% / 2312 mhz. I did not touch minimum frequency. I might be able to push my voltage a little lower.
 
I'm still impressed at the fact my card won't undervolt at all, lmao. Anything lower than 1.2V will just crash. Badly. Inmediatly :p, even at stock clocks... but I can push the clock to 2730MHz just fine.
Note: the only way to get <1.200V effective for me is to set the slider on adrenalin to 1050mV

It does undervolt only if the frequency <2400MHz, but then its really unstable at idle. Like, if I set the slider to 1040mV (which gives me an effective 1.154V in games), it plays games just fine, but once I quit to desktop its a blackscreen crash and the GPU disables itself on the device manager.

I still do not understand why we can't only change the upper end of the curve normally. Even if I try MPT undervolting, it will crash at idle. Not under load. At idle.

With Adrenaline keep reverting setting each time I boot up my PC, decided to use msi afterburner instead. Let's see how well it goes.

With my 2581MHz limit settings and 1155MV, I get around 78C max on hotspot temperature. Room temperature is 31C (South East Asia temperature without AC), quite good.

You have about 20C headroom. Might as well clock the GPU to the stock standard of 2654 MHz. Pretty insane cooling solution you have here, I must admit. My GPU is hotter at the same settings despite my room being colder.

Nah.. stock 2654MHz seems quite hot for me lol, always trying to keep it cool under 80C if possible.

The hotspot doesn't need to be under 80. It needs to be under 100.

I try to keep my 6750XT gpu (not the hotspot) under 75°. I was so used to my 1060 who didn't go over 70-75° at max load.

I'm still using it at my parents house. I've applied some undervolting and it can't go over 70° now. Such an efficient and cool gpu it was for the time.

I bought this card used recently. Previous owner was using it stock which the hotspot temp might reach until 88c when benchmarking.. So on my hand I try to baby it my way.

Because previously I had a GTX670 and got bad artifacting after warranty finished about half year.
My GTX1060 on the other hand, was fine and I didn't even undervolt it. I just let the fan run fast. RTX3060Ti was ok too with undervolting, but having some issue so RMA it and sold it after.

Yeah, it's all cool but RDNA GPUs, be it RDNA 1st gen, RDNA 2nd gen, or whatever RDNA gen, they all just don't die of temperature if it's below 100C. Not 80, not 88. It's 100. When your GPU eventually dies it will definitely have nothing to do with overheating. But of course keeping it cooler allows for longer lifespan. But you're helping your PSU, your wallet (ktricity bills), and the ecology more than you're helping your GPU.

Artifacting in Kepler GPUs is a common thing though. nVidia leadless GPUs of pre-Maxwell era are prone for such illnesses. Usually, has nothing to do with overheating, it's just by design.

IIRC, that was mostly before Kepler. I was warned to stay away from Fermi.

I couldn't tell if Kepler was even that bad or not, back in the late-2010s. The worst I experienced, was one with the wrong VBIOS and I flashed it with the correct VBIOS. (GeForce GTX 660 Ti)

My GeForce 9500 GT was slow, but reliable. GeForce GT 640 decimated it, was like an early version of GTX 750!
 
Hi! I'm thinking about buying an XFX Radeon RX 6700 10 GB (SWFT 309). This is the only card out of all 6700s that is available in my country. I want to undervolt this card. I'm ready to lower the frequency as well.
So I have a few questions. First, a general question.
- Will the voltage and frequency reduction capabilities offered by MSI Afterburner or another third-party program be enough? I'm asking because right now Adrenalin is buggy with my 5600G iGPU. So I want to have a second option.

And if there are any owners of XFX Radeon RX 6700 10 GB (SWFT 309) who have reduced voltage or frequencies, I have a more specific question.
- What results did you achieve? I am most interested in power consumption and fan speed.
