RX 560 Randomly crashing and blackscreen

Hello,

Unfortunately I needed a replacement gpu just to brace the storm, I'll eventually upgrade my whole system which still has a ddr3 system.
So I ended up buying the 1050ti but the ASUS Cerberus version. Same value, except this one is brand new with the warranty void untouched and shiny and smelling like new hardware. The weird thing is that idle temp sits around 50C and 82C under load on Heaven? I mean this gpu has double fans, also I noticed a weird fan curve where it goes from 0-100 in between 30-60C, much like a passive cooling curve, but still, my old RX 560 single fan would hit 30, even 25C while at idle? What can be wrong here? Maybe even though it's new it's also old and the thermal paste deteriorated? I wouldn't like to disasemble it right away because apart from that the card performs fine. (I can't RMA this card because it came without it's documents)

Does it have idle fan stop? If it does, might explain the high idle, but I don't know what a 1050 Ti usually idles at.

Edit: there are some reviews on TPU and they seem to idle around 40, so it doesn't sound too bad. How many monitors do you have? What refresh? I wonder if it isn't clocking down completely because something is stopping it.

I've seen other cerberus Idling at 30-50 and 60-70 under heavy loaded games on youtube. The card is completly new, probably the thermal paste started drying because the card was never put to use in 3 years. I'll just keep using it and maybe at the end of the year I'll open it up and reapply the thermal. Thanks

Maybe you guys were right after all! After a desperate attempt at reformatting my system for the second time, as soon as the os let me jump into the desktop I rushed to the Device Manager only to find that the Windows Update had ALREADY installed a "Radeon RX 560 Series" driver by itself! I had no idea what kind of driver was that so the first thing I did was to download DDU again and wipe that driver which Microsoft chose for me right away. I also blocked windows from updating any hardware driver and Installed 19.2.1 Adrenalin. And then VOILÀ, the crashes stopped completly since then. As of now I've been using my system nonstop for ~48hours, which was more than enough time for multiple crashes to happen before. I'm not sure what happened, but my computer haven't stayed on for this long in a while!

I'm trying to be skeptic but maybe it was win 10 fucking up my drivers all along
Why 19.2.1, specifically? Have you tried with a newer version?

I have a similar problem here about three weeks ago, this problem started causing me to change the font, the solution was to replace the rom file in the Bios with the rom from the Techpowerup Database. at least now it works and no longer had this type of crash Yesterday I went back to factory rom (another rom I got on the Site) and the problem came back. I voted for the techpowerup version.

this is really weird

Glad that you solved your problem! Unfortunately I can't test it anymore because I got rid of mine.
Btw @eidairaman1, since you're a veteran, is it okay for me to use a GTX 1080 Ti on a H61 LGA 1155 Motherboard? Can it handle? I'm asking because I just bought this MB and while I was trying do undervolt this GPU my PC crashed the and Mobo lost sign of life so I had to rma it... I'm afraid to do it again, but I really need to lower it's temps. Thanks for helping so much

Hey,

Usually when a GPU is faulty this starts happening before it completely stops. In my case I sent mine to two different technicians and they told me I needed to do a "reballing" for almost the price of a new card so I just bough a slightly better version from aliexpress. I think Kairos18's was actually lucky to fix his problem, because if you bought a brand new gpu it's supposed to come with a 100% working bios, only in rare cases would switching the standard bios from the manufacturer to another version (even though tpu's bios are completely legit) change anything to solve your problem.

But if you want to try anyway, follow this guide and visit this link.

That guide is for nv cards, my guide for polaris cards is in my signature
