Would this be a viable option for him to force flash the F81 bios?

Its possible if you modded a BIOS for him. I think @eidairaman1 knows the commands better than I do for the recent versions. My guides were all out dated by this point IIRC.

However; I know that atleast with my old nvidia bios mods and specifically with SPI programming there were flags to WIPE the chip prior to flashing. Since the UEFI mod might be modifying the actual size of the bits its possible that the regions of the ROM initilizing these modules are not be overwritten properly.

For someone with a spare or onboard this isnt a big risk (if the flash failed you would just flash again using a diff bios as the chip is already in write mode) even less of a risk if you have programmer.

It might be worth a shot but airman might know the proper commands to use. Probably something like

read (do this to check for error in eeprom communication, it should just list the bios version really)
wipe (clear the entire chip)
write (write the new modified bios)

If OP cant do it I can write a batch script probably that will do this for him automatically. I have a 580 here I can test with. I would just need to know the commands. I can find them I guess but if someone has them handy that would be nice.

Using the command prompt is what allows force flash, that is what the -f command is in amdvbflash.exe 2.93.

Anydesk is a good alternative to teamviewer
My teamviewer kept getting locked out for using it for "business" purposes remote controlling a game server in my own house
You can "set password" in anydesk and it becomes a lot easier to remote control, local devices automatically show up without needing online accounts or knowing an IP address in advance

If this is too complicated, buy another GPU and sell the RX580. Better to replace it and get some value back, instead of risking bricking the card.

Ok good

At the C:\atiflash> prompt, type in
amdvbflash.exe -f -p 0 ga580.rom
(there is a space between the .exe and -f, and a space between -f and -p and 0)press enter.

(replace ga580.rom with the name of your bios

Hello everyone,

This is my first activity on the forum.

I found this thread as it relates to my issue very closely and that is why I am replying here instead of opening a new one.
If opening a new thread is preferred I can do that as well.

I have my custom built PC for about 11 years now with config being:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
MB: Asus Gryphon Z87
GPU: Nvidia GTX 770
For the primary storage device I use NVMe M.2 SSD, which is connected over PCIe adapter since this MB is older and doesn't have a slot for NVMe M.2 drive.

Yesterday my GTX gave out, so I bought a second hand AMD RX 580 4GB for 50 bucks.

I installed the card and everything worked pretty smoothly, but then I noticed that I actually don't get to see the screen of the BIOS.
I turn on the PC and the screen is black until Windows boots up.

I am pretty sure that BIOS actually works but just isn't displayed on the screen as when I click DEL button (which enters BIOS menu) the screen stays black instead of booting, prompting me to think I successfully entered BIOS menu but just can't see it.

As much as I could deduce from the thread the optimal advice is to install a new BIOS for the graphics card, but I'd just like to additionally check this.
Here is GPU data:

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Ok please re-open gpu-z and go into the advanced tab and take a screenshot there, then click the V next to the word General and Change to Memory Timings get a screenshot there. Then remove your card please and get a picture of the SKU/PN sticker located on the side of the heatsink near the pci blade contact

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Here are the screenshots from the gpu-z below, I'll now proceed to extract the Graphics Card and take the pic you described and I'll upload it then

Yeah from product specs on sapphire

Your card should have a bios switch located on the backplate.

Also the cards ram is overclocked, it should be 1750 not 2000 due to SKU 11265-31.

Let me look at a few things.

PCB PN

109-D00947-00B_02

Samsung FE 4G.

E366

Now if you want to try and keep the 2000 Hz you can try these below:

Oh, so its RAM is overclocked.

I honestly have no need for that, so reverting to factory clock would probably be my choice.

Yeah, there is a BIOS button, what does it do exactly:

So, do you think flashing one of the BIOSes you linked should fix the issue?

The bios switch has 2 positions a performance mode and a quiet or compute mode (depending on what bios sapphire put on it)

If I were you before flashing, flip that switch, reboot system and get a gpu-z screenshot from that position, to include memory timings too.

The bios switch is there to also try and idiot proof a gpu incase a flash fails, meaning if 1 side fails, you can flip the switch to the other bios, bootup on it, then flip the switch again and flash, you should never flash both positions.

So boom, I flipped the switched and when I powered on the PC the Motherboards BIOS was visible :D

I suppose this fixes the initial issue, tough I am curious why the BIOS isn't visible in the other switch position...

Ok this bios position, do not flash, leave it be.

The side with the 1411/2000, its possible the uefi portion of the file on it is broken or it was a modified bios from the get go. I've in the past helped others reflash a file that had the same date code and it fixed their problem. So it varies.

Since we know the 1340/1750 side works correctly, you will only flash the 1411/2000 side with 1 of the files above.

To be safe flip switch to the 1411/2000 side and reboot then proceed to do the flash.

Use the guide for 2.93 below

Okay, cool.

Is this the proper guide for flashing?

Flash Guide

Additionally, which BIOS exactly should I flash from the above ones?
As I can see, there are two choices with the default RAM frequency:

201295.rom

and

266999.rom

Edit:
I see now you added the link for the flash procedure so ignore the first part of the question.
