5800X3D still sitting at 305usd on my region, i wonder if it's still worth it paired with a 4070 vs my current 5800X

That's like, barely $50 discount from what I paid a year ago

Maybe there will be black Friday deals on 7000X3D, plus 8000 is supposed to be dropping soon

DDR5 is dirt cheap right now and it's not like you're sitting on a particular valuable RAM kit or unique AM4 board

i live in the Philippines and black fridays are not a thing here, electronic parts prices in general are more expensive here vs the western region

Sounds like you could stand to just sit on your 5800X for a bit longer then

Unless there's a burning itch in x specific game that 5800X3D happens to be godly at. Don't make the upgrade expecting 5800X3D to just be "better" always

I guess if you can fetch a good price for the 5800X, might make it worth it

Also there is a vendor on ebay selling them for $299

Just saw GN's new video that looks at the 2700 and features 5800X3D in the charts.

If you had a 2000 series CPU and your going to upgrade, the 5800X3D seems totally worth it in gaming.

TPU reviews say yes

Until you can get a DDR5 system for less, they compete well above their total system price range, you need a ryzen 7600 or 12700k to break even
Intel Core i9-14900K Review - Reaching for the Performance Crown - Minimum FPS / RTX 4090 | TechPowerUp

It's not like the 5800x is at the bottom of that pile, but it's a good 20FPS up on the minimums. If you primarily game, watch for a sale

not a faulty sensor but a bug in the sensor-windows interface. i get issues with sensors borking out on my asrock motherboard too. had the same with my last motherboard. lol.

restarting it fixes it.

i dont know if its an issue with hwinfo and asrocks own axtuner software fighting or something else. sometimes my CPU temp gets stuck lol.

this only happens when i am fiddling with sensors and changing fan/lighting settings on the mobo

Never noticed it happen before, even back in last November.

I would get super buttery if they made a 5950X3D.. especially if it was stable at 1900 or better..

Edit:

My problem is I still want a 5950X.
Love my 5950X , if they make 5950X3D , I will buy it ! , and sell you my 5950X !

Hi,
Got my acer 17 7840HS with 16gb ddr5 5600 and rtx 4060 8gb I wanted a 4070 but they never dropped or were gone
Damn just noticed the memory is 5600 hell I thought it was 4800 :eek:op:

Still has some bloat and haven't got it system imaged yet so no playing around yet except for the m.2's and getting data on the 4tb
Stock acer 1tb isn't bad and of course the WD sn850x 4tb desperately needs a heatsink sucker hit 91c with CDM lol :fear:

Do you mean the IO die hotspot? Its max is 9 °C warmer than the IO die average max.

Used to be higher, and i believe it's on the CPU too and if the cores are getting in the 80's. It's not a hotspot if it's the cooler part of the chip.

It's not the hot spot of the whole package - just that of the IO die.

Hi,
Nice I ran into a neat driver save and restore app on elevenforum if you ever want to clean install
Portable so nothing to install just unblock/ extract all and run as admin the dd.exe file
Hit backup and scan current system and it's shows all third party drivers
You can also include the MS ones

It's not the hot spot of the whole package - just that of the IO die.
Sorry totally worded that wrong on my last post ha.

But just seems a little low for some thing a few mm's away is wanting to hit 90c+.

I guess i just got better contact this time with the IO, and just a little surprised how much lower it is ( about 15c-20c).

That's because the bulk of the CPU package power goes to the compute die, not the IO. It's normal. :)

My CCD 1 usually gets a few c warmer than CCD 2, both of which get warmer than my core temps.. usually matching Tctl/Tdie at an extreme load. I don't even think about my IOD temps because they are always so low.
