Micron B-dies should clock ok.I was on 3800 and they're Micron B die. I'm going to put it back on 3800 as I had the TRFC incorrect.
But the M-ATX boards seem to have their nuts chopped for memory overclocking.
For example, by B450-I ROG board stomps the living Fudge out of my Asus B450M-A for memory clocks. It is definitely a night and day difference.
The same holds true for the 2x DDR5 boards I have. A B660-I and a B660-G. The I-TX board will post up CL40 6400mhz all day no problem. The G model, with BCLK at least will not go over 6000mhz. Actually at this exact frequency, a lot of weird shit happens without a lot of dodgy tweaking and high memory voltages. This shouldn't be the case really... but it is.
That said, it's not your cpu or memory kit, it's the board. Just not designed well for memory OC, you've probably seen tons and tons of threads with B450 boards and Ryzen chips "can't enable XMP, defaults to 2133mhz"" which you NEVER see this issue if someone is running full ATX boards like Asus Hero or something like that.
