As I already wrote a couple of posts ago, this project has no official maintainer and has been updated only by various volunteers. An update to 4xx drivers may happen or it may not. I doubt it, since with DX12 no longer supporting it, SLI is practically dead.

I have sucesfully got it working with my 2 970's on driver 388.13, the preformance is outstanding. amost doubled my graphics performance in some games. Some other games have massive stutter issues like GTA V and i think this may be due to my 4x slot getting maxed out. and for some reason my system is reporing 8gb of vram not 4gb.
Im gonna send rockstar a support ticket querying if this would possibly get me banned and explain what different sli is and why im using it.

The stutter might be from the 970's VRAM issue, and GTA V has a GUI error where if you have SLI or CFX, it reports the VRAM as doubled (it doesn't actually double it)
I doubt it would get you banned, tbh I wouldn't bother with a support ticket

Hi all,

I tried also with newest drivers, and it fails with "patch #4" error.

I would be happy to try to debug/maintain this workaround, but can't find anywhere information of what is being done, or the source code itself. I believe it still has value, as its been 1 year since last working driver, and new optimizations (including CUDA 10) are missing.

Let me know if anyone knows.

Thank You

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC the cards have to match. If they don't the driver will refuse to enable SLI.
I know, so it should, but it does not go, I tried everything on the last 2 days like put in diferent position the cards the sli cables, unistall drivers for reinstall them like 10 times and nothing etc..., is something that happened to a lot of people (to recive that message even if they like very to have match), and on no forum there is a solution (sorry for my english)

Are you using them on an SLI compatible motherboard? Not only do the card have to match but also the motherboard has to be SLI capable. What's you mobo model?

Follow these instructions closely (Win 10 only):

That's exactly what DifferentSLIauto is about: Bypassing these requirements by patching the driver accordingly.
So even non SLI certified mobos and card combinations may work in SLI if the hardware combination actually allows it technically.

970s have a reputation for not SLIing properly under normal conditions because of VRAM vendor incompatibilities, so this patch may be needed.

I Can Confirm DifSliAuto Ver 1.7 Works on Windows 10 Pro with Nvidia 382.33, After combining different methods. Thank You To JameszZzz , Veiker, Pinkpanther and Many Others. Posted Below is the Complete method Combined all in one place for anyone who would like to try.

Download Version 1.7 And Veikers install file

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachments/differentsliauto1-7-zip.88372/

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachments/install-rar.83099/

1. Disable UAC
2. Disable Virus software
3. Delete old Differentsli folder.
3. Open "run" certmgr.msc, delete all differentsliauto certs.
4. Boot into safe mode, run DDU, Display driver uninstaller.
5. After reboot run reg cleaner and ccleaner.
6. Install NVIDIA drivers clean install. reboot
7.Run cmd.exe as admin and enter:
bcdedit.exe /set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe /set NOINTEGRITYCHECKS ON
bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING ON

8.Delete install in difsli folder, replace with Veikers install file located above.

9. Go to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository sort by date and you'll find a recently created folder named nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4. Or whatever yours is named, Look for the newest 1.
Copy that text into your clipboard and in Veiker's install script replace the three instances of nv_dispi.inf_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Still in that folder (nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4), copy nvlddmkm.sys and paste it into your DifferentSLIauto 1.7 directory

10. DISABLE graphics cards indevice manager
11. Run the patch (DifferentSLIAuto.exe)

12. <shift>-Restart into Safe Mode
Run the Install.cmd as admin. You should get a certificate installed and 1 file successfully copied. Copy nvlddmkm.sys in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4\ "TO" C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ and Paste it Here.

13.Reboot Normally, Enable Graphics Cards in Device Manager. Then Reboot again. Upon Restart the Enable Sli Option Should Now Be available. Enable SLi, Turn UAC back up and Turn Antivirus back on and Reboot.

Hi, i'm just wondering if this tool's still alive, with my surprise i discovered that my motherboard doesn't support SLI configurations, so i tried to follow every step but at the reactivation of the gpus happen this:

Well, for starters, you should provide an error code. And no, this program is no longer officially supported in any capacity compared to where it was, newest drivers for this are the 381.x series vs the newest 411.x

There are not error codes, it just refuse to allow the driver mod at the gpus after the reboot, so the gpus can't be activate, there's another guide with someone using the newest drivers and tools possible?

yes i using them with a sli compatible motherboard, MY MOTHERBOARD: Z97G43 GAMING 5 MSI

There should be a error code when you click on the GPU in device manager

Hi, i'm just wondering if this tool's still alive, with my surprise i discovered that my motherboard doesn't support SLI configurations, so i tried to follow every step but at the reactivation of the gpus happen this:
Test Signing Mode most probably is not active.
Fire up cmd.exe as admin and enter:
Code:
bcdedit.exe /set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe /set NOINTEGRITYCHECKS ON
bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING ON
Reboot

Concerning the correct instructions, I'm not sure whether those instructions you quoted actually work.
I usually refer to these, which use links to earlier posts, but I'm sure of that they are complete:

I think my problem is the error displayed every first try Nvidia drivers installation after the DDU, because Windows 10 install automatically the driver 388.13 during the 388.71 or 382.33 installation and that interrupt every time the installation saying something like ''It's not possible to install the driver because another installation it's running'', how to make Windows 10 stop to do that?

Run gpedit.msc (if you're running Win 10 Pro)
Go to: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update
Enable "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates"

Or make a .reg file and merge it:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001
If the above does not work in Windows 10 Home, you might also try this (untested!):
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Update]
"ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Update]

DifferentSLIauto version 1.7.1 and nVidia driver 388.71 are the correct ones for Windows 10 x64.
This combination has proven to work.
Are you following closely the install instructions I linked in my post above? Does the installation run without errors?

Ok now it's working, it's better use also the Bridge cable or left without it?

It's definitely better with SLI bridge.
As soon as SLI can be activated and is working, it's no longer the fault of DifferentSLIauto. It's all at the mercy of the SLI implementation of the driver and above all of the games.
