These exaggerated textures make sense at 4K, where you can see the difference, but not for most who play at 1080p, so a possible optimization would be to have the high resolution textures in a separate optional download pack.

I don't think that is easily done on Steam.

You better start hoping someone comes out with a 2TB 2230 for that Deck of yours... :rockout:

I mainly play the hundreds of indie games I have on backlog on Deck, or games that are capped at 60 fps regardless of what monitor you use.

For games like FFXIV, I will still use my Desktop

I'm sure we will reach those prices once penta level cells will be out, of course they will be probably as fast as a 5400rpm drive from 1998, judging by how bad QLC drives are once the cache is full.

155GB games won't be a problem then, it's just that your fiber optic line will be heavily bottlenecked by the drive speed!
Once the cache is filled up, the 870 qvo that I use writes at 150mb/s.

While this one is clearly more open-worldish with more territory to explore it looks clear that to devs compression is for pussies.
Oh well, as long as the game runs good.

I live with my parents dude, they pay for the internet. I don't make much money as I work part time (hopefully soon it will be two part time jobs as it was a couple years ago) and have a list of 4 pages long of medical issues, perhaps you shouldn't assume.

It was a joke.

These games are incredibly bland. It puts you on rails and you basically hit buttons to jump and swing your weapon. Rinse and repeat as baddies get harder and your "skills" improve.
I played the first one for an hour or two and stopped. Never really felt like a star wars game to me but obviously sold well enough (and enough people liked it) to make a second one.

Most people really like Star Wars. The Publisher/Developer knows this and it causes them to lazily spew out a subpar game because they know that the game will sell anyway because it's.......Star Wars.

...that doesn't suck big time.

Corrected it for you.

Star Wars has been saturated by unbearably bad TV shows, even worse films and mediocre games ever since Disney took over. Personally, the only two things I didn't find to be a complete waste of my time in the end lately are The Mandalorian and Jedi: Fallen Order.

I agree. I'd add Rogue One to the list of few Disney-era Successes, though it piggy backs on a lot of older series concepts.

The Mandalorian was pretty much everything to me that Netflix's The Witcher series should have been, but wasn't.

I think Rogue One is a worthy one time watch because of the two awesome scenes with Darth Vader, which make up about 5 minutes. I found the rest of the film quite forgettable, unfortunately. It's still miles better than any of the 3 main Disney-era sequels, I'll give it that.

Honestly only the hallway scene with Darth Vader was really awe worthy for me, the other one was mixed (I didn't mind the "pun joke" many complain about but something else was off about it that I can't put my finger on).

I guess we all have our opinions as per usual. Wouldn't be a franchise without it, lol.

Agreed. :)

The point of that "pun joke" was that
he was probably referring to himself with it. I could feel his own suffering when he said it.
It was a well-executed line, in my opinion.

What did they do, encode every cinematic in DivX in every possible resolution with hardcoded audio in every supported language?

I don't think that is easily done on Steam.
steams done it before, skyrim was the first. They treat it as a free DLC.

I feel like Star Wars fans will buy almost anything Star Wars related.
Until we burn out and stop buying any of it at all, like moi.

They think the name carries them no matter what they do, and despite a lot of flops they make money due to the power of advertising funds so they don't stop. It's Avengers post endgame all over again.
