Dialed in the "optimal 45-60FPS experience" on the i7-577C+Vega 56 config while I had a little bit of time to test it today. Once again with the hardware shown in the second screenshot.

This is a reasonably enjoyable experience, and the textures don't look like they've been boiled and smeared. An NVMe drive would likely remove the loading spikes entirely and this would feel relatively smooth.

Quad-core gaming isn't dead yet.

The AMD beat down the 4080 getting a good mugging by the 7900XT and the 7900XTX nipping at the heals of the 4090..... I was bummed this game has no RT but after seeing performance I can see why lol....

The 6800XT performance likely bodes well for the 7800XT add some FSR and more than playable at 4k might be the best deal to get people there at least in this game.

I know it's an AMD sponsored game and while I am underwhelmed by the nvidia performance the AMD performance really isn't bad considering pricing.

I dont know about you but with a 3080ti laptop version, it runs pretty good. You must be something messed up.
i'm not sure what you are fine with but being fully GPU bound (1440p max.) with a 3GHz 4090 in the train station in new atlantis dropping into the low 60s and averaging 70-90 FPS is ridiculous.
this game looks like a 2014 AAA title and should run at a hundred + of FPS on a 2060 Super...

I just got a crash while the GPU was at stock settings when I tried to pause. Either the game is buggy or this card/drivers has issues. I upgraded to the latest driver as well. Starting to look like I need to go back to RDR2 and let this game mature or start the warranty process.

It's a bethesda game... give it like a month and the FPS will double.

I'm honestly surprised with the way the performance numbers turned out. Based on the horrible numbers I'm seeing on a 13900k/4090 combo, I thought this was going to be a MW2 moment where RDNA2/3 was going to wipe the floor with Ada/Ampere. Turns out they all suck equally (at least in relation to overall graphic quality).

I'm not saying the game looks bad at all - it's just not really anything next gen. And with regard to game play I'm actually surprised how much it's drawn me in so far.

Overall, seems to be a good launch. I haven't seen any noticeable bugs and has been 100% stable so far for me.

No regrets all at from me - lots of free time this weekend to play. :)

*edit*

It's really cool seeing the 7900XT/XTX right there with the 4080/90. What we need more of is strong competition.

If I put my conspiracy hat on, i bet they really wanted to release at the same time as FSR3, but FSR3 is late.

Yeah people always get bent when AMD cards do well in a title.... I don't if it becomes more of the norm Nvidia will do things like lowering the price of the 4060ti 16GB..... Competition is always good regardless. My main annoyance with AMD is FSR and their lack of drive to beat Nvidia more often and only offering slightly better price/performance I know they are not running a charity but stuff like the 7900XT at launch and the 7700XT coming up just makes no sense... The 7800XT looks like a winner regardless of its naming though just not sure if its enough.

Game doesn't seem to have exclusive fullscreen? I'ts where nvidia's driver upscaler NIS (nvidia image scaler) supposed to work. But i guess it can be used in conjunction with the DLSS mod for nvidia to sharpen it up a bit as NIS can work on borderless fullscreen but only as a post process image sharpener.

It's not about amd cards doing well. It's about Nvidia cards doing awful. The 6750xt is matching a 3090 at ultra settings, wut?? I mean I get it, it's amd sponsored so it has to look good on amd hardware, but they went too far.

Usually it is poor drivers that causes a game to crash. I imagine there will be driver updates for AMD and NVIDIA in the next week to address performance issues and a couple of bug fixes these next 2-3 days by Bethesda.

Tried seeing what fps i would get in new atlantis, which is supposedly the most cpu demanding place in the game - unsurprisingly my findings does in no way reflect that german poop sites results...

720p fsr2 render res 50%

1080p fsr2 render res 50%

4k fsr2 render res 50%

4k native

Gets cpu limited (i think - could actually still be gpu limited) at 720p at just over 130 fps.

I had thought the highest octane rated gasoline was leaded -- and it's still used, in aviation.

The fact that leaded gas is still used in aviation is mindboggling, and just speaks to the corruption at hand when big money is involved...

My very uneducated guess is the engine not properly culling what's not being viewed by the player maybe this is becuase you can change all kinds of stuff the game has to account for.

the game costs 100€ now. what "may" happen in the future or not is completely irrelevant and defending this scummy behaviour is the reason why these AAA corporate clowns get away with constantly spitting in the face of their customers.

To be fair at least on an oled the game feels really smooth at 60-70fps I was actually surprised it was that low after activating a counter.

I'm not sure i get your point :)

I remember FF15 having detail culling issues when it launched this reminds me of that. Although to be fair that game had stuttering issues as well.

Right, but i don't see how potential culling issues relates to my post.

I'm showing that i get 130+ fps in the most cpu heavy area in the game, where as that german site claims that the 7800x3d gets no more than 90 fps.
