As far as I know, currently there is no PCIe gen5 m.2 SSD which can work without some cooling.OMG PCIe 5.0 SSDs are almost unusable without coolers ...
Future of PC is .... Cooler for each component
The ones sold bare, are all have signs that you need some appliance before you can use.
But it is also very rare that something not having some passive or active cooling.
maybe the future/newer generations of gen5 SSD-s will get lower consumption.
