My main concern was that i couldn't undervolt because the card was reversing the settings i applied, thanks @Mussels and @wolf for your advice, now it is working

.800 is too low and can only be achieved by a very good sample. Try chcecking what your default clocks and voltages are and go for a lower voltage until it crashes.
I didn't try 0.800v i went for 0.813v 1815Mhz and so far is stable when running Heaven

Does 4.6.2 even support ampere? you need the 4.6.3 betas for ampere OCing
I was able to raise my card's power limit via 4.6.2, however not able to set a minimum fan speed.
Not tried undervolting or overclocking yet.

Man, the RTX 3070 ASUS Dual is very loud and very hot. I get up to about 83C during gameplay and normally the GPU isn't being maxed out (guess Tropico 6 isn't stressing it too much) and yet it is very audible.

Makes the ASUS GTX 1070 Turbo sound silent.

How much power draw is there? Could you post a GPU-Z screenshot?

Yes you can do that via 4.6.2 but undervolting is a pita, make things easy and use 4.6.3 beta :D

ok, so this is rather interesting.

I tested cyberpunk with the 3070 Dual OC and surprised it handled well. So far. And, temps didn't get crazy nor did the fan speed. It seems to be rather secluded to Tropico 6.

cyberpunk_3070_2.png

The game is set to 1080p (my monitor), max everything with Ray Tracing set to medium and DLSS at Balanced.

Can't get these damned things for love nor money without going to some dodgy seller at inflated prices on eBay. Therefore, I'm gonna enjoy my virtual 3080 and check out just how good those virtual benchmarks are!

Let me know what load temps you get and how much rad space you have. I have Bykski's block for Gigabyte Eagle OC card and I think temps are little high, although internet seems to be fine with 50C+ temps.

Man, this is the biggest pain in the ass aircooler to remove that I've ever dealt with. Beware of the crappy star screws... and those magnetic covers. The aircooler works great but the way it's put together sucks ass.

I just got it in and it's idling at 21c and water temp is 22c. It's idling around 10c lower than air give or take 1c. I suspect load will be around 40c. I've currently got two HWL Nemesis L series 480mm rads with AP15s at 1krpm or less. Did you orient the in/out ports?

Just ran FSU, gpu peaked at 46c. Just got a 5900x in...

Yeah, I've got the right inlet/outlet ports. See, even you are getting closer to 50C for load temp and that's on 960mm of rad space! Super clean build though, nice work.

Thanks. Though I have to add that my rads while it is 960mm of rad space they are thin 30mm rads. That and the fact that this is a 350w tdp gpu so you should expect a higher load temp. And in my case the gpu is running up to 2200mhz with power maxed out yet gpu temp stayed in the 46c range. It's not bad imo.

I'm planning a custom loop with my 3080 and a 5800x inside the NR200p using the tempered glass. Any idea what's the suggested radiator size is needed to cool these beasts?

It's nice to see so many new members in the club! Welcome everyone!

I added a new Ampere card to my repertoire, this time inside a new a thin and light gaming laptop, a Gigabyte Aorus 15G YC.

For the specs, it packs an 8 core/16 thread Intel i7 10870H, an RTX 3080, 32GBs of 2933MHz RAM, a 1920x1080 240Hz IPS panel, an NVMe 1TB SSD and a 99Wh Li-Ion battery (the upper capacity limit allowed by airlines to pack in a laptop), all crammed in a chassis weighing only 2Kg.

Last night I added a new 2TB XPG SX8200 Pro NVMe 1.3 SSD, for a total of 3TB of solid state storage running at PCIe 4x.

Here are some pics:

I'm running Cyberpunk 2077 with all details and ray tracing maxed out, and so far I haven't found any hiccups, loading times are also insanely fast, taking only a few seconds to load my current saved game from the main menu.

All in all, in very impressed with this little laptop, I pre-ordered it as soon as it became available on Newegg, and it was delivered the next day after it became available; for $1,999 before tax, I was impressed by everything Gigabyte was able to cram into this system, I can wholeheartedly recommend it!

Please keep adding pictures of your Ampere systems! It's so awesome to see this clubhouse grow so fast in the last couple of months!

Damn, that's a monster laptop.
Also, it seems the days of 4kg gaming laptops are behind us now!
How are your temps? Are those two fans really enough to cool a 45W CPU and 320W GPU?
Also, it seems your battery is actually 94Wh(15.2V * 6.2 Ah), not 99.

Yes, I agree, I remember having an old 17” laptop that tipped the scales at almost 5Kg, it was never fun traveling with all that weight in my backpack.

The CPU tops at 89 °C, while the GPU reaches 72 °C when playing Cyberpunk for extended periods of time. Also, you gotta remember, this is not a full desktop card, but a mobile part rated to top at around 100W if I’m not mistaken, heck the power brick is rated for 230W for the whole system, can’t cram a 320W video card in a laptop of any reasonable size or weight lol.

As for the battery, I’m going off the rating in the official specs, as well as the one in the battery label, either way, I tested it to last a bit over 6 hours with medium use, like browsing the net and streaming videos, haven’t tested it while gaming, but I’m sure doing so, while not plugged into an outlet, would greatly reduce the performance of both the CPU and the GPU.

My previous gaming laptop, another 15.6” with an i7 7700HQ and a GTX 1070 was only able to last less than 2 hours on battery power under light load, so I consider this a huge improvement.

So you know which one you got?

Oh, I'm sure its one of the Max-Q variants, although so far it's boosting to over 1600MHz, so I'm not complaining :rockout:

I think the models with higher wattage are used in much bigger laptops, with beefier cooling solutions.

Have you ever been so bored you stuck an intel stock cooler onto your 3090?

I'm testing bitcoin mining and this keeps the GPU fan down about 15% since its cooling the RAM... i want a better slim CPU cooler to permanently stick here now
