Memory clock is 2000 missing in hwinfo cos of windows 11 22h2 install bug still shows up in amd control panel
Like i already mentioned its the 22.7.1 driver having issues they probably changed power saving options with certain setups to fix memory clocks during idle or power usage and broke something since it happens during video calls at desktop with nothing else
read some reports now that some users on 22.7.1 cant even pass AMD own stress test.

I am running 22.7.1 no issues yet using DP on my 4K@144Hz monitor.

I got a PowerColor Radeon RX 6800 XT Red Devil anyone have any good undervolting setting for this card?

Right now at I am doing 2424/2000MHz@1.050V if I go lower the card gets unstable so maybe this is max I can undervolt at default clocks.

my RX 6700 XT do about the same (a bit higher on the core tho but that's normal ) i guess 1050mV is indeed the lowest stable undervolt
1200mV is the default for me

ah did not notice the 22.7.1 update

updated my watercooling with temp sensor to see how hot the water gets almost thought it did not work at all it would not go higher then 31c, so i set my fans at 700 rpm it gets as hot as 37c at 700 rpm

I peeked 69c hotspot 53c gpu temp
avg went down to about 63c hotspot 49c gpu temp after ramping up to 100% with water temp down 33c
standing here at 3840x1600 with ray tracing on high makes my gpu get way hotter then any other games i usually top around 59c 60c hotspot at best 62c
my gpu boost about 2420 mhz here with rage profile which sets the 6900 XT power limit to 270.3 watts normally 255 stock

For those watercooling what water temp you target for fan curve ? just wondering.

Given that I'm cooling a 6900XTX and 5800X on a single 280mm rad, I don't have a set water temp target - that's just not realistic. At full power in warm ambients (~30°C) I've never seen it go higher than ~43°C though, and in most gaming scenarios it sits much lower than that (especially with my regular underclock preset). My GPU never exceeds 65°C edge temp - I can't recall the peak hotspot temp I've seen but it's definitely sub-80.

hotspot is visible as junction temp in amd control panel or hotspot temp in hwinfo usually about 15 - 22c higher more you push the bigger the difference potentially is at stock i would expect 14c 15c difference especially on good mount.
I have triple radiator 2x 45mm 1x slim forgot the thickness probably about 25 30mm

... I know where to find the hotspot temp, I was saying that unlike edge temps I can't remember quite where the hotspot temp typically sits. From what I can remember though, my deltas tend to be closer to 10°C than 20. Edge-hotspot deltas vary quite a lot between coolers and installations.

The 6000 series GPU cards Maximum Operating Temperature for Hot Spots (Junction Temperature) is 110c.
There are several Thermal Sensors throughout the GPU card. If any reaches 110c it will automatically start to slow down or throttle to maintain the temperature at 110c or lower.
There are two Temperature Readings for the GPU card. One is for the general temperature of the GPU card while the other is the Hot Spot (Junction Temp) temperature.
So as long as the temperature never reaches 110c your are fine. But it is best to try and keep the hot spot as low as possible.
So I can't see a problem to use it on the 85-90C Junction.
Link.

nope ... although i had to DDU twice and install the latest drivers from adrenalin (and not form TPU ) but since then: everything went flawless :D anything i play run 1620p60 max settings (noAA because who need AA @3k  )

tbf, i had way more issues with Nvidia driver than AMD

well, most waterblock manufacturer only do one fitting only ref design (i had that with my R9 290 back in the days)
although it's not uncommon to see custom card with ref board design nonetheless ... (or some manufacturer like EK to list some speciall card, usually the most expensives like a "KingPong" yeah i know not the correct spelling )
oh, then it's the point. yeah, buying overprice sh!t like "kingkong" (kingpin) or "sh!tbauer" (der8auer) edition only makes sense if you are their fanatic. i am not a fanatic so i can't approve paying 3x price of the alternatives lol.

Tbh, a lot of der8auer's stuff is quite reasonably priced. The delid die mate is, what €25? I wouldn't say €30 for a precision machined piece of aluminium like that LGA170P frame is "overpriced" either. Can it be made more cheaply in lower cost countries, by cutting corners in production (including lower precision machining), etc? Obviously. And that is ultimately fine - it's not like the TR version is a ripoff, as it's plenty clear several people had the same idea at once. But does the existence of a €5-on-Aliexpress version make the €30 version overpriced? No.

There's a ton of expensive engineering that goes into things like Kingpin edition GPUs too. The only issue is that this engineering is completely useless for most end users, and adds zero real value. But for anyone doing extreme OC it might have some value. Different uses have different needs. And, of course, if you're one of those people who buys a Kingpin edition gpu because it has a cool name on it, well, then you're the sucker that's paying for all of those sponsored extreme OCers.

i mean "highly-binned" cpus. this kindda sh!t... i dunno.:kookoo::D
you actually pay VERY PREMIUM for testing for OC a portion of cpus. if you oc for oc, then it's ok. but, if you oc for performance, then you could purchase next level of cpu for same price lol

Oh, of course, binned CPUs are always stupidly priced. It's a luxury product aimed at people wanting to OC but not wanting to spend the time needed to do so. The value proposition is essentially zero, or along the lines of "for the people with lots of money but little time". Just another way of flexing your wealth.

And sorry for the ninja edits btw :p

Well looks like blackscreen freezes where video related lets hope they fix it next driver.
New driver no blackscreens so far noticed different behaviour gpu power fluctates more during whatsapp calls while its steady without doing call so i guess they made some changes to focus on stability.
Another unstable driver took a little longer this time, whats even more of an insult is this game ready driver for spider man remastered there no way this should be unstable.

I think I got a pretty good 6800 sample - open box on amazon too :)

I am really tempted to start using MPT because there seems to be more OC headroom, everything maxed in wattman and no artifacts. Max junction temperature 80 with 70% max fan

@jext so I see you overclocked the crap outta it but did not use a custom fan curve or turn of the stupid Zero RPM crapolla

turn on Advanced Control in the fan section turn off zero rpm and make a custom fan profile

you also seem to be lucky with the power limit being 15% mines only 10% what make of RX6800 do you have

@jext so I see you overclocked the crap outta it but did not use a custom fan curve or turn of the stupid Zero RPM crapolla

turn on Advanced Control in the fan section turn off zero rpm and make a custom fan profile

you also seem to be lucky with the power limit being 15% mines only 10% what make of RX6800 do you have
Thanks I'll be doing that next because the fans do get pretty loud at 70%, the model I have is MSI Gaming X Trio

I got RX 6600 Eagle card from gigabyte, big and cheap maked I can say, plastic "backplate", thermal pads for memory on same heat pipes with graphic chip. Card quiet below 60% of fan speed. It's cheapeast than 3060 and 3050 in my country on moment when I buy it. Temperatures ok on that card, under witcher 3 on ultra without vsync I have 75C on hot spot and 68 on chip, BFV5 - 78 hotspot and 70 chip, zalman z9 u3 case coolers on minimum. My previous video cards have better overall quality except - GTX 1060 Gaming v2 - after years cooler start making noise if I manually set it more to 55% and radeon 7950 winforce 3- have OC bug, bios flashed to undervolt and core clock down, both still work fine), and one from sapphire rx 570, almost perfect except needed manual cooler control
That card have every 5-10 min stutters (frametime jumps from 6ms to 150ms by amd driver stats, afterburner show 50ms spikes) in some games, good example BFV5 with 150 FPS and 6ms I can't play comfortable because of that, my GTX 1060 6, provide better expirience even with slowest cpu on same high settings (r5 1600ae vs r5 3600 without boost), as I understand that problem for all 6xxx series, I turned off SAM, this not helped much. I already regretted that buy, better to buy some rtx 3050, slow - yes, but without that amd driver lags. Sorry for my bad English

Sounds like the type of bug that ought to be reported to both AMD and whoever is developing those games. Can't imagine an issue like that being too hard to fix, either on a driver or game code level.

Sounds easy, yes. But it will take years then AMD fix that problem, as always. Some games doesnt supported well on start and especially after years from release. I think the problem is in clock spikes, vga sleeping sometimes and dropping clocks too low.

If the gpu is under utilized just set everything as high as possible rendering scale included if possible, if had that problem a lot when i still had a 1080p screen, because i went thru hell trying to get a proper Samsung G9 cos it always had dead pixels and then tried for a Neo that came doa with pixel warranty followed by replacement never reaching me cos of a bright pixel dead center, so i canceled cos i got fedup and got a good LG ultrawide first try.
Just try playing golf with your friends on a 6900 XT at 1080p it wont even trigger proper 3D clocks

I've seen the same thing with my 6900 XT at 1440p in lightweight titles. It has improved quite a bit since I first got it though.

That's a possible explanation, absolutely. Fixes always taking years is BS though. AMD, like all large hardware vendors, have weird issues that take time to fix, but that doesn't mean all fixes take that kind of time. And, of course, when the fault is game specific, it might not be something AMD can fix, but it might require the developer to intervene, or it might require the two to work together - the latter of course making any fix far harder to make and implement. Either way, report your bugs to both developers and AMD, and if nothing happens, keep pestering them. That's the only way to do this.

Question especially for those using 22.8.1 do you leave hardware acceleration on everywhere or turn it off everywhere or just few apps ?
speaking of 22.8.1 this is how AMD own stress test behaves
1660942406190.png

Normally it maxes out 270 power consumption with much lower clocks like 200 mhz lower i am not overclocking at all whatsoever it does this on default tuning profile as well as rage tuning profile.
Just tested with all hardware acceleration off and still black screened during whatsapp calls, but for some reason if i do a call with my self i never get a black screen as if specific codec from different type of webcam is causing issues

Hi,

Just got an Sapphire Pulse RX 6600 replacing a Aorus RX 580. A few issues l've had that others may be able to help with (thanks!).

Spec:

B450 DSh3 mobo
Ryzen 2600 CPU
Crucial Ballistix 32GB 3200 (running at 2966) due to instability on stock settings
Monitor Acer VG240gy
EVGA 6000W PSU
Adrenalin 22.5.1
Win 10 Pro

I've got the new GPU installed and running on . However when booting up it shows "input not supported" for a few seconds it then loads Windows login screen. Fast boot is disabled in BIOS and Windows power settings I don't see any BIOS options when it is booting.

If l select shift and restart in Windows to get into the BIOS it restarts but l get the same message and l have to restart the PC as the BIOS display doesn't show.

It is as if it isn't initially detecting the monitor so l'm not seeing the display where l'd access the BIOS options.. The only way l can get the BIOS showing is taking out the CMOS battery and it displays on the initial boot but after another boot cycle the problem is back.

I heard that using a hdmi 2.1 cable could help?

Thanks if you have any insights on this.
