@Aquinus - you're probably right about hanging on to my current set-up for now. Went to a 'Safari' Park near me. I'm sure it's tiny compared to most places, but it has an enormous eagle there. The Stellar Sea Eagle. Caught on R7 and RF100-500mm.

It's a captive bird of prey. They fly them. The leather straps are to secure it when it lands on the handlers gauntlet. These birds are allowed to fly free - and they come back. Not wild.

Yeah and that's with a crop sensor no less which goes to show how awesome the optics are on the 100-500mm. Like I've said before, I would love to have that lens.

Had to go a walk in the rain to escape the leaking attic roof. Took the R7 and my rarely used 16mm (25mm equiv) lens. I wish I lived somewhere with beautiful scenery. Instead, I have Glasgow.

Both shots under the M74 across the River Clyde.

heaps of missed content later due to email notifications bugging out, time to dump some photos too high res for TPU anyway

All criticism will be ignored, I've been having fun.

I'm in this photo, as well as several hot women in their early 30's in bikinis. Good luck spotting em.

This was the fine macro focus adjustment test - getting his face in focus while the rest isnt.
Far easier to get everything in focus or a random part, but if i want attention drawn to one specific thing this is how to achieve it.

Never fear for your camera if the drone fails ?
New York Falling GIF
Drone has it's own camera, it just uses a very similar one to the camera itself
It's a 4K sensor downscaled to 1080p for higher framerates/better motion handling

Have you done any astro with that lens? I've heard that the comatic distortion isn't very good wide open and that without lens corrections the spherical aberrations are pretty pronounced, plus the typical vignetting with wide angle Canon lenses. Have any opinions? I'd love to add a fast wide-angle to my kit, but only if it's worth the cost.

To stay in line with photos, this is a juvenile cedar waxwing. I continue to be amazed by adobe's scaler. This is scaled down to a width of 2048px from the native 26-ish Megapixels from the camera without any post processing. This is out of Lightroom with LR's lens profiles against the RAWs out of my camera. Lens corrections in-body are still enabled on this one, but I've since dropped all in-body corrections. I want the unadulterated images. Some of them impact the RAWs and I don't want that.

Where I live there's an excess of light pollution. That, and we get a lot of cloud. Astrophotography isn't something I can really do without travelling.

In a similar way for my backyard, but there are plenty of out of the way spots nearby fortunately.

Y'all remind me to take some pictures once the colors change here.

Trees are already changing colors here in NH. Maybe I'll go for a walk later and snap some shots before all of the leaves fall.

The town I live in has a lot of light pollution, however it doesn't take much to get away from it.

Not topic revelant ... but ... are the ram sticks on the good position ?
It should be something like A | B | A1 | B1 with A & A1 the same sticks (and ofc B & B1) ?

1st photo is nice, it looks like an ad :)

Yes, intentionally like that. Otherwise the RGB wasn't next to each other. The RGB modules would partially block the fan, which i wanted to avoid.
Custom timings on both kits and modded SPD/XMP so they're identical makes it a non-issue.

That's not a bird!
Allow me to course correct with a Downy Woodpecker I saw out my window. ;)

Lots of birds are migrating through because it's gonna get real cold before you know. No lens corrections, no edits, just a crop from the raw at 1/1000s and ISO 6400.

It's interesting to go back to using something like this, nothing quick happens with it, and film/development costs are...dire, especially when you goof up and make a double exposure.

That's some major film resolution power!

My favorite film cameras that I own are the Minolta x-700, Nikon N80 and Canon ELAN7. I mostly shoot expired film, some of it used to be fresh when I purchased it, but I'm very slow.

Here's my ELAN 7. I like this one the best, mainly because I have an extended battery grip for it that takes 4x AA batteries, making supplying power "normal" and easy.
